I am sorry about that. I assume you were doing cloud saves; please only use local saves until that problem can be fixed.

I didn't expect reinstalling the game to affect this launcher problem.

I'll post in the launcher support thread, see if the developers have any ideas for us.

I see an error about that in every error.log I look at, so i suspect it's a bug.

Note that this game is not supported on Intel video Macs , which covers most Mac laptops I'm afraid.

I doubt that's the issue with the iMacs mentioned above, but if you could all confirm your video systems and amount of RAM, thanks!

78c is getting up there, 80c is my personal redline for problems beginning to occur.

If you turn on in-game fps in Steam, do you see really high rates? As there may be an issue of the game not honoring refreshRate settings in its settings file. If you see excessive fps try capping the game to 60hz in GeForce Experience.

Let us know how you go!

I see you are running SWusb.exe which appears to be something RealTek put in for USB switching under Windows XP ? Best to remove that IMO!

Interesting that there are no LiveKernelEvents or bluescreens recorded in that dxdiag. In the Windows Event Viewer are there any relevant Error or Warning entries in the few minutes before these events?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

**File Locations on Mac OS X**
The executable and DLC folder are in Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Crusader Kings III/
To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .
The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx, mods) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/ .

I see a red dot in your launcher, so I suspect it has not updated to the current version 2020.11 .
Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

I've read somewhere that my graphics card (GTX 1660) can have issues sometimes, so I've tried nvidia debug mode - still no success. One thing I've noticed (but don't know if it will be helpful) in the Nvidia panel, where they list your games with the option to optimize them, I can see all my games except CK3. I've verified the game files through steam and all seems to be fine - yet the game still freezes after about 5 minutes

Does it only affect Stellaris for you too?

That does read like there is an issue with the Windows updating process, I'm sorry to say! I suspect nothing that uses msiexec will work until that is fixed.

If you have access to Microsoft support I think that is your next stop.

Good luck with that!

Indeed.

Add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

I've now seen reports of this happening in Ironman with cloud saves enabled. If you play non-Ironman with local saves does it work any better?

Ok after uninstalling the (manualy as on the reddit thread) installed launcher, then reinstalling it when starting the stellaris game, it is back, but still "you seem not connected". In English it uses other words, but the idea is the same.

The only "consequence" seems to be: not having the news in the launcher so... isn't the error on your part, paradox??

75c is high but should not cause crashes, I agree. It never ever gets above 80c?

How about the CPU?

If you mean the game executables, MS are responsible for that as they handle the installation. Launcher executables I'm not so sure about.
