It is extremely bad I have to agree! There must be somethign different on this computer that triggers this behaviour by the game, but I'm just not seeing it.

Pretty much every other case I've seen has been connected with doing autosaves.

I would suggest it be on C: though, if as I think D: is an external drive. That really makes no difference at all?

What CPU and GPU temperatures do you see in the main game menu, then when this problem starts happening?

When you start a new Ironman game there is a tick box where you choose local or cloud.

You may be able to recover your save with this process:

Are you having any other issues with this machine?

Is the game installed on C: or some other drive?

That aside I don't see what in that machine could be causing this for you!

Can I see new log and dxdiag files please.

Ironman should not be a problem as such but cloud saves are. Make sure you are saving locally only, until that is fixed!

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

I assume the game is installed on C: not that external D: drive?

That aside I see nothing in those files to explain why this is happening to you, I'm sorry!

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

I don't know then, that definitely helped others with similar issues.

You've basically already tried everything I would normally suggest!

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

You might ask that of the launcher developers here:
forum.paradoxplaza.com

New launcher version : 2020.11

Is it that time already? Yes, yes it is. As 2020.10 was slightly delayed it's already time for 2020.11. New stuff Mod details (description and tags) are visible when h... Read more

If you disable autosaves as a test, does that help the problem?

Is there an issue regarding Xbox game pass players?

My specs are:

16gb ram 3000mhz
I7-7700K 4.2Ghz
GTX 1070 8GB

Please any solutions?
That is not the general experience for Xbox or Steam in fact. For me from hitting PLAY in our launcher to the main game menu takes just over 1 minute. And i just have an i5, GTX 1060,... Read more

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Note that you can run ck3.exe directly from Windows Explorer, which bypasses the launcher.

There is a logged bug where the game does not honour the refreshRate set in pds_settings.txt . Until that is fixed i suggest you use GeForce Experience or Catalyst to limit the frame rate to, say, 60hz.

Sorry about that!

Hardware specs:

Note: this is true, to an extent, with all Paradox games in my experience (i.e., just runs better on a Windows with the precise same specs), but it's very very apparent in CK3, so I would guess there's a more serious issue at play

If there are mods involved I'm afraid we cannot help here. Does this also happen in a save where no mods have ever been used?
