That looks exactly like mine. Was there something in there that concerned you?

What launcher version do you have? Current is 2020.12

Are you on the Steam or MS store edition? If the latter this is probably an Xbox user permissions issue.

Ignore that, it is cosmetic and nothing to do with your larger problem.


Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders

Okay then, all of you enable one mod and check you still have the same checksum. If you do, all then add another one, and check again - that way you will find out which mod is causing this for you.

First check that you have the correct game version and checksum when NO mods are loaded, which is 2.7.2 (60bf). Do you?

If so but you get a different checksum when mods are loaded you must be using different mods, different versions of the same mod, or perhaps loading them in a different order.

I was able to load and run that game for a couple of years at least, no problem. Is there some action or choice in that game that triggers a crash for you?

You get that same error with local saves? Because they write to a completely different place.

Have everyone load the game up with no mods at all active. You should all see 1.03 935c . Anyone who does not see that needs to do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.


IF you all see that checksum unmodded, then the issue is in the mods themselves. You may be loading them in a different order, have different mods or different versions of the same mod.   ... Read more

If anyone is in debug mode that changes the checksum, they need to exit that mode.

That aside, are mods involved or not?

That is the AMD utility, it usually comes with their drivers. It is possible they don't install it on Bootcamp - can you see it in Windows there already?

Are you using cloud saves? If so they are probably corrupted. Can you test with a new campaign with local saves only please?

This is the problem I'm afraid - Intel video systems are not supported hardware for this game on Mac. Unless you have another machine you can run on, OR have Apple Bootcamp installed (as some Intels are supported under Windows) please seek a refund from where you got the game.
