Thanks for the feedback.

I want to address a few things here about communication directly.

" It really hurts me to get on Reddit and hear all the negative feedback. It hurts because I agree with them. It hurts because they're right. "

Every developer in the studio feels the same as you. We are reading all these posts, and have been since Thursday (and before as well). The hardest part is the "it hurts because they're right". It sure does, and we know you are. No developer ever wants to launch their work to see this reaction. It's like a swift punch to the gut for each of them.

Right now, I'm working with them to make sure that all of this feedback is sorted and addressed, but it can be very overwhelming for us, not as devs, but as people with feelings. We're doing our best to respond, but we don't have the capacity to respond to every single thread, but we will continue to put out pinned updates. Thanks a ton for writing this all down. It was all super succinct and easy to read.

I've passed it on for the team to read over and I think it's a great summary of the last year. We've been trying a lot of new things, and not everything has clicked. This sort of measured feedback really helps us understand what is resonating with our fans.

It isn't conspiracy its a common tactic in the business world. Propose an idea where you come out ahead regardless of the outcome.

Trust me, it's much better to launch with a healthy system that players enjoy than have to undo our mistakes.

We want players to be happy when they get a new content drop. The fact that this topic has overshadowed our wound, pike, trials, and HG work is not the way we wanted it to go.

This was not the intended course, and we want to improve these systems so players are happy :)

Hey there,

I can't speak too much to this because I'm not a designer, but I know the intent of this system was to offer some risk versus reward to players. This probably works better during a private hunt at this time.

We wanted players to explore these structures and learn their importance through experimentation, so this can lead to some players not know how they work. The intent is that over time, the majority of players will know how these work and understand how to handle them. It might take some more time.

We're having a lot of conversations around challenges right now and making sure they ask for a proper amount of time for our players.

We haven't locked in anything yet, but we want to take away all pressure to log in every single day.

2019 was before my time at PHX but from my understanding, those weekly challenges didn't give players enough flexibility to play when it was most valuable to them for the Hunt Pass. Back then, Weekly Challenges were the only way to get HPXP and they were pretty restrictive. Hence, the Bounty System (and its iterations).

Now that we have the Bounty System for HPXP and it provides the flexibility to players for that, we wanted to bring back a more structured system for earning cosmetic content. Bounties provide the "stacking" part of the content. The goal of Challenges is to get week over week engagement from players while making sure they are rewarded for their playtime. Sorry, but Urska has nothing to do with Embermane's model, it's just another four-legged mammal, so I understand the confusion. Completely new rig and set of animations.

We're putting out a making of video soon, so it should give some insight into the development of this Behemoth.

You either learn from your mistakes or not and how many times you guys repeat the mistakes I will say the contrary.

Still the pike changes, the wound mechanic, the trial changes were the highlights of the patch. GREAT WORK THERE. I keep pointing on the bad things because it's easier but should always inform the good things also.

That way as a developer can understand what and what is not appreciated and I will keep that in mind when posting feedback for the future.

The thing about dailies it's just that they are extra bounties right now. Which make you play every day to unlock the same content I could unlock just by playing on my own time. That felt bad and it feels bad.

Hello Slayers,

1.6.0 launched yesterday, and we’re getting a ton of feedback in our channels around the state of this patch and Dauntless as a whole.

We’ve been pouring over Reddit since the launch of 1.6.0 and reading all the feedback coming in. Yes, there is a lot of it! It’s kicked off a ton of conversations within the Dauntless team. We’re in the process of identifying the major points of friction and coming up with our plan around them.
Overall, our goal with the Reward Cache was to let all players identify which items they valued and give a clear course to earning them. We thought this would be a better experience for obtaining rewards that Slayers wanted. Right now, the rate at which you earn these items, and the current Hunt Pass offerings, still need some work and tuning. We hear that.
