Got it, thanks. When you have a chance can you try setting up a Clean Boot on your PC to see if that helps? If there's anything else running on your PC at the same time that could be interfering with Origin it might help. 

 

For more info on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. If you're still having any trouble downloading the update afterward let me know.

Hey @jwendt45

 

When you've got a chance can you check to see if Restricted Access Mode might be enabled in Origin? Open up the Settings and click on the Application tab. All the way down at the bottom there should be an Advanced section with an option to enable or disable Restricted Access Mode. If this is active try disabling it and see if you're able to download the update afterward.

Thanks, I appreciate it! Have you had a chance to try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that helps at all? If there's anything else running alongside the game that may be causing the black screens that may allow us to get around it.

Got it, thanks. Let's take a look and see if we can help prevent more of these crashes from happening. First, have you had a chance to try repairing Apex Legends in Origin to see if that helps at all? 

If you right-click on the game in your Origin Library you should see a Repair option in the menu that pops up. Let me know if you're still running into any crashes after that.

Was there any error message at all that came up when the game crashed? If so, could you grab me a screenshot of the error?

Hi @reivesta,

This is an issue that we're currently tracking, and the Apex Legends team is looking into it. In the meantime there's a workaround that should help.

If you alt-tab after you choose your Legend and leave the game minimized until everyone is on the dropship, you should be able to bring the game back up afterward and play the round normally.

If you're running into someone who might be cheating or breaking the rules the best thing to do would be to report them directly. The Terms of Service team will take a look and take the appropriate actions.
