Thanks a lot, you have saved me from the frustration of waiting longer haha.

Phew, I'm relieved that fixed it for you!

The weird thing also is that the achievement says "defeat a Tormented wraith" nothing about gear or anything and I have killed it multiple times now already. First thing I did after having killed it multiple times with both scimitars, halbert etc was reporting it. It's just highly annoying that it's my last hard wilderness achievement and it's not working

Had a look into this today, but reproducing your situation as closely as possible from the video (wearing the same 5 items and ring, prereqs met for Cement His Torment), I always successfully complete the achievement.

It's definitely not down to your equipment - you need to be wearing 5 or more black armour items (cosmetic overrides make no difference; it only checks your worn equipment) in order to attack the wraith.

And I saw from your video that the wraith dropped a black platelegs, which is after the achievement complete code, so it's not breaking early.

So from that evidence, the only condition that might be failing is the "findhero" check to get the player who did the most damage in focus, to complete your achievement.

I'd suggest ensuring you aren't in a group or friends chat with lootshare enabled, and don't have some external means of damaging the wraith, like a combat familiar. (Didn't see one in the video, so that's a long shot.)

Fair. Thanks for tagging him, I'll keep the game installed in hopes that he replies.

This should hopefully prevent the undesired behaviour:

  1. Untick the "Guidance system hints" option in your Settings parent window:
    Settings->Gameplay->Interfaces->Information Windows->Guidance system hints
  2. Open your activity tracker and right-click then Remove any Burthorpe achievement paths you might be tracking.
That should prevent you from getting new player restrictions, but for bonus points:
  3. Open your Hero parent window, select the Achievements tab, ensure you're on the Summary tab, and in the bottom-right corner if you see a button labelled Burthorpe, press it to switch to a different achievement path book.

Incidentally the threshold was recently reduced from 200 total level to 100 total level, so you may've levelled past the new player conditions by now. :)

(We also have a patch in the next game update to remove the total level check entirely, but since there won't be a game update on Mond...

For the use case you've described, it sounds like the Adventures->Quests interface may get you what you need?

Pick the end game quest you want to work towards from the quest list on the left (eg Plague's End)

Then under Requirements: you can click the quests you still need to complete to jump to them.

There's also Back and Forward buttons just below that to step back through the quests you've viewed recently.

If you prefer something more online, then the wiki has quick links to a quest's articles for required quests.

Yeppers, Lore->Post-Quest->Experience.

Revel in all that tasty XP you've unlocked.

Then get master quest cape, because that's what cool people do.

The 'post-quest rewards' page on the wiki is also amazeballs.

There are quests with scaling XP rewards, but to my knowledge, The Death of Chivalry isn't one of them.

The prayer lamp you mentioned awards a fixed 60,000 Prayer XP.

The stats of the enemies you fight during the quest do scale to your level, though. Perhaps you're thinking of that? IIRC defeating them doesn't award combat XP, so you don't have to worry about that scaling.

You find the additional level-locked lamps after completing the quest by looting the tomb where the quest takes place (you monster). You can come back and claim them if don't you meet the requirements, so no worries about losing out.

This achievement's page quite handily summarises the post-quest XP rewards:

also, most players only want to go there to unlock the sword "The Spirit of Davendale sword" for cosmetic stuff.

edit: I just checked my storage, seems that the sword is already unlocked. you might want to announce that in a news post.

To (hopefully) clarify, we built Davendale as a cross-platform tutorial, and we've demo'd it in livestreams on both platforms.

Davendale indeed can be played on both desktop and mobile. But currently when you first log in as a new account, whether you start on Tutorial Island or Davendale is determined by your platform.

So to play Davendale on desktop, you'd have to first create that account on mobile before switching to desktop (which is how the wiki took their screenshots).

Regardless, I'm happy to hear that acquiring the Spirit of Davendale sword from Diango seems to have met your needs. :)

I will give it a go with a new account then. And will check the camera rotation in the app aswell.

As for bringing outdated areas up to speed with current graphics, it's always the areas new players see first which get updated. Which means the players who have been playing the game for a long time are left with these really outdated areas that are never touched up. As is why I'm sad some areas get updated we can't even visit without making a new account.

But I guess that's how the game keeps getting and keeping new members, so it's needed.

Thank you very much for your willingness to do that! I hope you enjoy Davendale. :)

Never say never, but making a non-tutorial version of Davendale isn't something we're currently working on, and given the effort vs impact, the action you're taking is currently the best way to scratch your Davendale itch.

And rest assured, we acknowledge and have paid attention to feedback that some players want the oldest areas to be the highest priority, and less weighting toward the starting zones. Definitely factoring that into the impact costing.

Thank you Mod Stu!

Thank you for letting us know, and for going to the trouble of sending a bug report!

I remember a while back I had to paint an environment override area in the Skeletal Horror's arena because it's similarly mapped in the opposite corner of the Silvarea mapsquare, so I should be able to do the same over most of Silvarea as a compromise - depending on whether the Senntisten folks consider this to be working as intended.

But that's Morning Stu's problem! Zzzz...

Hmm, looks like the Senntisten entrance is mapped in the corner between 4 mapsquares. That's unfortunate.

Possibly might've been deliberate to avoid a sudden lighting change in the walkable area outside Senntisten.

Confirmed that the Silvarea mapsquare is indeed no longer using the Paterdomus lighting/skybox.

I've searched for an open JIRA with those keywords, but failed to find one. Have you sent a bug report?

I've made a note to mention it to the Senntisten devs in the morning, to confirm if it's intended (or indeed might already have a fix in flight).

Based on some of the comments in this thread, looks like a little meaning may've got lost here in translation from developer-speak. So to clarify...

This change is referring not to the RuneScape website, but to the in-game Upgrade button and membership icon that (up until now) appeared on F2P accounts on the desktop HUD.

(If you've been a member for a while, you might recall the button used to be labelled Subscribe.)

Clicking the Upgrade button took you to our subscription website, and though F2P could move the button around their interface, there was no way to remove the Upgrade button other than maintaining a membership.

Since in-game membership purchase is available via Upgrades & Extras -> Marketplace, we've removed this Upgrade button to improve the player experience in F2P.

If you're willing to create a free account on mobile, we'd certainly welcome your feedback on Davendale.

There's quite a lot of login methods available on mobile; you might find for example that your current username creates a new account if you're an Android user and log in with Google SSO and you haven't before.

(Currently new desktop accounts get Tutorial Island. If you'd prefer to view Davendale on the desktop platform, you can log a new mobile account into desktop right afterwards.)

Though Davendale is the (currently mobile only) new player experience, so non-new players aren't the intended target audience for this content.

We're hoping to trial Davendale to new players on desktop in the future to see how it performs vs Tutorial Island, after we're satisfied (as noted elsewhere in this thread, my team's currently focused on making frequent prioritised quick wins to Davendale and the rest of the new player experience) that the mobile tutorial con...

To add buttons to your right-hand 'ribbon' on mobile:

  • Tap the home (thatched cottage) button in the top-left corner of your HUD
  • Tap the Settings button in the bottom-right
  • Tap the Ribbon tab on the far right of the Settings menu

From there you should be able to drag action window buttons, like your backpack, onto the ribbon to customize it.

Or press the button in the bottom-left to restore to the default ribbon.

Hope that fixes it for you! :)

The status of the cypher outfit is currently the same as the last statement made about it:

https://youtu.be/xT_HqnZJ0WY?t=2685 44:45-45:24

As mentioned there, this outfit is not available outside of Davendale at launch of mobile.

We're hoping to add this outfit to the Wardrobe in the future.

The tricky thing is that this outfit was deliberately designed to be bulky and androgynous. It's fine in the tutorial since we carefully limit what items are available to equip, but the cypher outfit doesn't fit the standard template for male and female avatars.

Player vs cypher silhou...

It’s on their list to tackle but again player rework is eating that team’s time right now.

Yeah, the player rework team are mostly character artists and animators (not surprisingly), so needed some environment artist time from another team when the release schedule allowed.

Mod Chilly, the absolute champion, kindly took a break from Davendale this sprint and stepped up to the challenge.

After a solid two weeks of tweaking thousands upon thousands of cube maps (Gielinor may look small on the surface but there are a lot of interiors and dungeons and off world spaces), he's on track to finish the initial implementation this sprint.

(And Mod Chilly seemed inexplicably cheerful and apparently sane in Friday's standup, which further proves my theory that he's superhuman.)

It took a smallish army of internal and outsource QA to keep up with him. Not least because they're also testing these new avatars as soon as they're modelled, the systemic and newplayer components of the next mobile release, and the next engine build.

And Mod ...
