Farming AI without it being a fair fight, like when a player is hiding in an area where they know the AI won’t agro on them - then killing them multiple times, is unintended and should be treated like an exploit.
I was DMd a capture of the placement below the rock. If there is an additional spot we haven’t discussed yet (on the ledge above as well as the ledge adjacent to) let me know.
Company income from home ownership should not be impacted by the lower taxes; they will continue to receive income as if this temporary discount wasn’t in place.
Can you DM me how it’s happening? Is it the same spot? Or a different one?
It was likely a crash. If there’s no message from us then it’s most likely an automatic reboot that the server performs after a crash.
Yep, looking into it. I’ve passed along the info to the team members who can look into this/investigate.
Anu experienced a server crash earlier, and is currently back up - it is not part of the planned downtime for tonight.
Unfortunately you’ve added a compounding variable with the name change. The only thing a company needs to do is have the last person leave, and when that happens there is a backend change that allows you to reuse the name on a different server. By changing the name before the last person left, you effectively allowed the newest name to be reusable, and locked out the name you wanted.
I’ve asked the team that works on the naming service to look into this for you, but it may take a while before your preferred company name becomes available.
Glad the restart worked. We have a ticket written up for this. Happy crafting.
Two worlds is good enough to dive into this. Thanks all.
Yes, this is on our radar and in our top issues to fix list. Thanks for the reports everyone. As far as a private way to communicate on exploits, you can DM the devs or community managers for now. Our community managers are looking into other reporting mechanisms that aren’t so public. Stay tuned.
I’ll ask them to check the drop rate. I know that they do drop, have had confirmation of that. But will look into the data to see what’s happening.
Are you all on different worlds? If so, drop the world name in the comments. That will help us drill into the data quicker.
Hey New World family,
We had to revert the changes we made to those US West worlds (this is why downtime took an extra 60 minutes) as the desync (aka time skew) issue was still present. These worlds are back up, and we will continue to work on a resolution.
Additionally, you likely noticed that worlds across all regions are being set into maintenance with little or no notice.
Some of these maintenance periods are due to crashes (no in game warning appears ahead of these), and our system will automatically assign maintenance while the server reboots. Others are set manually due to the desync issue. The latter worlds will see an in game warning message, and after maintenance, their world persistence rolled back to before the desync occurred. Neither scenario should impact your character data at all.
I know it’s rough, and I’m sorry. We are working to get the desync, the performance concerns, as well as the other bugs you’ve been reporting, resolved as fast...

The devs are actively working on the issue, so we can’t respond to every forum post on it.
When did the skew happen? Was it rolled back? Looks like it’s been up for a bit now, but we will continue to keep an eye on it and all the other worlds.
This sucks. I know. I can’t speak to any make goods unfortunately, but I can tell you that we have been working nonstop to get the root issue resolved. We believe we have a fix, which is going through some testing overnight, and then we are deploying it to some worlds in US West to make sure it’s a significant improvement.
It’s going to take some time, but the time this fix spends in US West is critical before we take it worldwide.
Messaging should be gone now.
Thanks for the tag. Sharing this with the hacker team.
Phlegethon should be up now. Apologies for the extended downtime.
