This post is talking about World transfers, which are waiting on the edge cases.

You are talking about region transfers, I believe, which is not a functionality that currently exists meaning it is a much bigger change that is going to take time to address. I don’t have an ETA but it is something we are actively working toward.

Hey there, world merges are on the horizon, but require additional scale testing before we are confident enough to use the tech on the live worlds. As you can imagine given the first few rocky weeks, we are using an over abundance of caution here.

Keep an eye out in the official news area for an update from our Community Managers on this in the near future.

Continuing to ask me the same question ten different ways is not going to elicit a different response.

The official position was made clear. If there is a consideration you would like for us to review, then either submit a ticket to Customer Support or post in the feedback section where folks are giving us suggestions for improvements or adjustments.

To reiterate, the official position is that an add on which is location only is fine for now.

If the add on uses more data, such as from external websites, the game, etc other than location, and solely the player location on a map, then it is not allowed.

It’s a bug. Will be addressed along with other crafting bugs in one of our upcoming patches. Hang tight.

This has gone to a dark place. Closing the thread since we have stated our position on add-ons and will update official news if anything changes. Come back to the light!

We have some players who are in a state where the transfer is blocked for no good reason, and we want to make sure the majority of these edge cases are resolved before we open any paid or additional free transfers.

Hang in there. Fixing those edge cases is a high priority for us, so my answer is ‘hopefully soon’ - it depends on what we uncover during these investigations & fixes.

Hey all, we’ve clarified our position on addons (link below).

@Atreau based on the image alone I can’t tell whether it’s pulling the data and the layer is just turned off, which is against ToS, so I can’t say for certain a yes or no. But let’s say for argument’s sake that the addon is pulling only the location of the player as the image suggests, then that is okay (see Tl;dr below).

Tl;dr

Are you using an addon that pulls only your location? You are good at this time and no action will be taken. Keep watch on the official channel in case this position changes.

Are you using an addon that pulls more than your location? You need to stop immediately, as you are subject to action from the moderation team....

I’m going to close this thread since we have made the official statement.

I saw this thread open - feel free to start the feature request conversation about addons there.

I can say that we are actively looking at improvements all the time, including the compass, map, etc. for quality of life opportunities.

Be sure to let us know what you would love to see in the game, and we will see what we can do. This can be done via in game feedback, or in the forums which is where we lurk and engage often.

Tl;dr

Are you using an addon that pulls only your location? You are good at this time and no action will be taken. Keep watch on the official channel in case this position changes.

Are you using an addon that pulls more than your location? You need to stop immediately, as you are subject to action from the moderation team.

If the addon is reading or showing anything other than your location on the map - including the location of resources, like nodes, or places of interest, etc. then it is against the ToS.

Hey everyone, I’m reading through this long thread and there seems to still be some confusion around our official stance on addons.

To clarify, addons that read position only are considered okay at this time. Should our position on that change, we will post on the Official Notice, that Luxendra has been updating, 24 hours prior to taking action.

If the addon reads more than position, including pulling resource locations from the game or an external website, giving players an advantage that is not intended by the developers, it is a violation of our ToS and we will take action.

I hope this has cleared up the confusion.
