How about new gameplay loops and proper content ? Don’t wanna bitch but damn waiting until summer for a content patch is kinda insane.

Seasonal events like this are comparatively small tasks, so we try to pepper them inbetween new seasons, rather than leave you with nothing at all. That said, we're confident our upcoming content will be worth the wait.

And as others point out, if the base game doesn't do it for you any longer and the only thing keeping you around is new content, other games are available - I've heard a rumor about some kind of new diving game in Hell? It's supposedly great fun. You can always come back when the new season does drop, if you still feel like it at that point. DRG isn't meant to be a chore to play.

We told you Miners to go outside once in a while. We didn't mean to just start fighting on the surface! That said - For Democracy!

I trust you are aware Management does not pay for overtime, Miner.

(That said, the next round is on me. Just do not tell anyone.)

You are only as old as you feel. But by that metric, I am older than time itself.

Checking back into Reddit after a long break - Well now I wonder what I missed in this post!

Been taking a break from Reddit, but a great joy brought me back! That's what I'm talking about, Miner! Rock and Stone!

I recall when we started prototyping DRG way back, and we agreed that keeping people playing for maybe 25 hours would be a great victory - so ey, I'd say 600 hours ain't a bad run! Hope to see you back at some point, Miner - but otherwise Rock and Stone!

Consider this an official endorsement from Ghost Ship Games that if you earned all those levels legit on a different platform, you are allowed to cheat them back in on the new platform without having to feel bad about it. I wish we could offer actual account transfer from PS to PC, but sadly not an option at this point.

Rock and Stone, Miner.

It's always sad when developers cave in to peer pressure and woketardism.

Countless? More like a handful. And as in all things Game Development, it's not quite as simple as that. In our case, we had the option of removing the lines, or risk being barred from release across entire countries. We could not afford to ignore it.

The same goes for the cigar, only even worse.

This is a little off topic but, will you still be Mission Control in RogueCore or is that role assigned to a different person now?

That's a bit up in the air right now. We have some fun ideas.

This is a part of the Steam announcement for the stream:

"Last, but certainly not least: we’re finally ready to share an update on Deep Rock Galactic, and what we’ve been working on over here. :)"

To me this doesn't exactly communicate that I am supposed to expect a break in the season cycle that has been going for 2 years. I might be mistaken but I don't think there was any additional information about the future of DRG beyond this, leading up to the announcement.

With post-stream clarity, I don't think any of us in here disagree with that. We'll try to do better next time.

That's a useful skill to have. A lot of developers tend to cave to vocal minorities instead of actually sorting out useful criticism from useless complaining.

Nah. Of course we want happy players, but at the end of the day, we are making the game *we* want to make.

Balancing is the most difficult. In terms of what's the most work, that's probably Frameworks by now.

Yo Robert just wanted to say this. At first, I was disappointed that Season 5 was postponed, and me being not a huge fan of rogue-likes didn't help ;) Nonetheless I get more and more excited for it day by day somehow. And like you said, it's good for the team to work on something new and I can see that.

I think you guys could've made the announcement a bit easier for yourself, if you said "don't expect season 5 to come this year" the moment you dropped season 4, since "we work on something new and exciting". Just from a communication standpoint, it's smarter to kinda forewarn people when they are busy with the new shiny stuff :P

With full hindsight like that, that does feel wise, yes. But the fact is, we did not have that information when Season 4 was released. For instance, as I've said elsewhere, it's not until recently it was decided that Rogue Core would be a standalone product. With everything going on, this was pretty much the earliest point in time we could confidently reveal our plans and stick to them.

Fantastic response to the ongoing discussions, gets through the vitriol to what's really at the core.. People love deep rock galactic and want it in whatever incarnation they prefer it is to be the best it can be.

Side note, thanks for the making the demo of survivor available. I honestly didn't think I'd like it but gave the demo a shot... I think I'm sold now, can't wait to try the other classes! Hopefully we'll get to try rogue core too and maybe more views will change 😉

Happy to hear it! We're quite proud of what our friends at FunDay has made of it. :D

So long as those opinions are actually useful to read and not just a steaming sack of bile, then I welcome the negative posts. They are extremely welcome and a big help for us.

I was talking about putting some assets from rogue core into DRG, and I don’t know if that’s how you read the question because it could also be interpreted vice versa and I’m sorry for that. So will assets from rogue core be used in DRG, DRG assets in rogue core, or both?

Again sorry for the confusion and thank you for responding

No worries - and my answer stands. I think it's a given that specific assets from either game will find their way into the other, in some form. That is one of the reasons we are keeping the artstyle intact.
