Folks that receive a ban can appeal it through our support site. Although these responses may follow a template, every single one is reviewed and addressed by a support agent; there are no automatic responses in this system. This is the only path to handle ban reviews, as the forum staff (myself included) does not have access to player account information, in-game tools, or bans themselves. We made a decision some time back to disallow ban appeals through the forums not only because they are not effective, but also because many of these appeal threads were completely false when investigated and contributed to false fear. That is why discussing with CS is the only way to handle a ban, and they are the only team that can directly assist.

We are proceeding with promotion as we do on any standard month’s update, however despite this content update being bigger than most there are some blockers preventing a larger marketing push. One, this update is mostly end game content which means new players won’t be able to access a lot of what is coming with the Legion Raids and Guardians. In addition to that, with disconnects still being a widespread issue, we want to make sure this is in a better state before driving people into the game.

Appreciate this early feedback, but once this is implemented in game we’ll be observing impacts and listening for feedback from players. Please let us know what you think once you have experienced the update.

Ticket re-grants for disconnects will happen twice as often as they regularly do? I am not sure what details you’re looking for here, as that sentence is very straightforward.

Keep it kind between each other please. There’s nothing constructive that comes from arguing back and forth, and arguing whether or not people should be allowed to have a holiday isn’t helpful or up for discussion.

We aren’t necessarily waiting for weekly updates when it comes to potential patches or fixes for this issue. We are more than willing to push these as soon as they become available.

Also, although some folks will take time off for vacation, we don’t have a full office closure on our end. I can’t speak to what SGR’s holiday schedule looks like, but depending on resources and the status of the fix, it’s a priority to get this out as soon as we can when we can.

I understand the concern from players surrounding this, and we’ll watch for feedback once this rolls out. However, it is important to remember that as we make changes to push bots out of the game, the reason that bots are being run so heavily in the game is because they are profitable for the bot farmers, especially in the way of RMT. When botting is no longer profitable, farmers will not want to continue to expend resources on botting. It’s been a long road, but we want to make sure we are being as effective as possible and that we don’t only remove bots from the game, but that we make sure they have no reason to come back. Once there is a handle on this issue, we can always revisit some of these tactics.

Yep, it would be frustrating. On our end, we’re more than doubling the speed of ticket re-grants that are happening to help get players back in game faster in case players experience these disconnects, as that is something we can control and use to improve the experience as much as we can while we wait for a fix to be worked on.

The one month suspension callout is inaccurate; ban length is affected by severity of the offense, and gold is removed. Some of these last for potentially years, which is more or less permanent at that point.

In calling out different sources of gold that bots use, this is challenging to deal with, especially with Una’s. The more sources of gold that are removed, the more negative affects that these have on real players in the game. In your example if a 1460 ilvl requirement is needed to get gold from Una’s tasks, you’re effectively locking all new players out of easily earned gold, which could make it much harder and slower for new players to get to current content. Hyper express events are not permanent events, and target specific item level windows, so also using these as a standard that expects all players to have completed these isn’t realistic.

I was told that it is to ensure the economy remains in balance; it was considered successful in helping to rebalance those scales, but they don’t want it to tip too far in the other direction all at once.
