I haven't touched office hours before, so this might be a silly question. Can we just listen in on the discussion or do we have to talk if we join in?

Apologize I didn't get to this sooner! I saw you there, so I'm sure you have your answer. For those that maybe didn't make it, you absolutely can just hang out without talking (lurk), or you can participate in chat if you don't want to speak ^_^

Thanks for joining today, @NiKr :)

Hey,
Will this discussion be uploaded on youtube or wherever ?

Thanks,

This discussion won't be shared externally <3

There won't be any new information on the game if you're perhaps worried about missing out on that. This is a discussion between mixed groups of players, giving their thoughts and feelings on the topic (which this time around, is dungeons!) :)

Awesome, Cant wait to learn more about the bosses

Office Hours is a discussion with other players. Roshen and I will be there to ask you all questions (specifically, the one's in the OP above!), and engage in the conversation. This won't be a Q&A, and Roshen and I will not be divulging new information on the game <3

With that said, we hope to see you and we hope you enjoy the discussion!

Speaking for my group today at least for now. 80 - 90 minutes

So, would you go over if your group was looking for something important and specific, or perhaps under if the competition in the dungeon is tough? Just curious to hear more from you and your group! <3

Ok well I think you know who my 'leader' is by now. If she doesn't pass through soon I'll summon her for you. I think she was taking a break for a bit.

We'll take all the feedback we can get in these Dev Discussion threads! It's super helpful to the team and makes writing the reports that much more engaging <3

L2 style. Literally as long as possible. All my time in the dungeons. It should be the main source of content in the game and take up as much time as possible.

(I believe Steven said this on stream, if not, 🤫) I recall Steven saying that for example, especially with the Story Arc system, players could expect to spend a lot of time in and around Carphin while questing in the Riverlands! Is this also what you're talking about, or do you mostly mean killing monsters and players in dungeon environments?

Well, there is official time I.e. 90 mins max and then there is quality time I.e. 12 hours max.

Quality time can be for skins for transmog and other juicy tidbits. Generally across the night rather than peak times.

What makes 90 minutes feel like the sweet spot to you? Or, the "official time", rather.

Glorious Ashes community - it's time for another Dev Discussion! Dev Discussion topics are kind of like a "reverse Q&A" - rather than you asking us questions about Ashes of Creation, we want to ask YOU what your thoughts are.

Our design team has compiled a list of burning questions we'd love to get your feedback on regarding gameplay, your past MMO experiences, and more. Join in on the Dev Discussion and share what makes gaming special to you!

Dev Discussion - Dungeon Delving
Dungeon Delving: On average, how long do you prefer a dungeon playthrough to take?

Note that most dungeons in Ashes of Creation will be an open-world experience, where you may compete with other players to progress through the dungeon. You can read more about our du... Read more

@killion I just wanted to say that your OP thread is very well-written and formatted. I really enjoyed looking at it and reading it.

Side note - If you've thoroughly read through a wiki page, and you can't find the answer to a question, be sure it bring it to the monthly Q&A <3

It's interesting to read the differing thoughts and feelings regarding air travel/transport for Ashes of Creation! I hope to see even more ideas and opinions here <3

Iirc there's no items over $35 in the packs. But Steven has already addressed this. He's a collector and appreciates rare things. Those who've been with the game since the start will be the ultimate collectors. Anyone else will have to deal with the release-onwards collection.

They know they can make more money by just selling it all. Steven is not interested in that currently.

This is more-or-less the case. Steven believes that there's something special about rarity and exclusivity in MMORPGs. These cosmetics are a way to fill the game with these unique things, support the project, and provide something to the players who choose to support the project by buying limited-time cosmetics <3

But I think for the long term that might not be enough.
Having Items earned exist forever I find weird.

I'm curious if you can elaborate on this. Why exactly do you feel that the current design might not be enough? Or can you elaborate more on your thoughts outside of it feeling weird? Interested to hear your thoughts!

It's worth noting that mayorship isn't the only government role within a node. Node governments are chosen from a node's citizenry when a node reaches Village (stage 3). Positions within a node's government are attained through titles that grant special access to NPCs in the node.
For example:
Mayor
Priests, bishops, or acolytes in certain temples
Patron guild leader
Chief bounty hunter.

I encourage you to check out the wiki on mayors, node governments, and ... Read more

I used to play a ton of Tarkov, which (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) had this feature! It certainly fits in Tarkov, as that game is a hardcore, full-loot PvP shooter 🔫😱

Greyshore Transporters is a renowned shipping company, originally founded in pre-Exodus Verra. The business fled Verra during the Harbinger Apocalypse. After surviving, and even flourishing, during the Sanctus Interregnum, they returned to Verra with one of the first waves of expatriates. Now fully re-established on Verra, the company’s extraordinary expertise with planning, conveyance, and logistics, and its unparalleled familiarity with ground, sea, and air transportation methodologies have made it one of the most successful businesses transplanted from Sanctus. To the Transporters, it is never a question of if their client’s cargo will reach its desired destination, only of how quickly it will make the journey, and how much it will ultimately cost.

Lets be realistic about that, there will be zergs farming both ways as soon as they pop up.
It will be like events in guild wars or public quests in warhammer online, just that some part is locked behind node progression and they will be farmed over and over again.

Hi all! Thanks for the feedback :) I was one of the designers on the livestream.

As a huge fan of public quests in both Warhammer Online and in GW2, I wanted to mention here that story arcs don't quite function in this way.

They are sometimes simply locked behind node progression, but we look at other variables, too. Some of which will, I hope, be a delightful surprise and be fun to satisfy even when they're datamined/discovered/whatever y'all do.

In terms of "farming" them, that's where I think you'll see the biggest departure from pu...
