We're still working to track down this error. Did just see a spike of logouts as well, but that seemed to recover pretty quickly. Seeing some connectivity issues very periodically between some services, which players who are seeing the character select issues may be seeing this.

We're taking a look at this. For those of you running into issues on EU, what country are you playing from? I'm seeing a particular game server that has slightly higher errors, but don't want miss a more systemic issue.

Without digging into the specifics, your friends likely have an issue with one of the following:

  1. local internet setup (other people on their network streaming TV, playing games, etc... or spotty WiFi or they're on a VPN or they have a faulty router/modem)
  2. their ISP (internet service provider).

We (the VALORANT dev team) are aware of all the players who have unexpectedly bad ping. If there is a specific internet service provider in Texas who has all their customers with bad values like what you mentioned, it is on a priority list for us to tackle and fix. We (Riot) are actively reaching out to ISPs to work with them to fix problems. There are too many regions with issues for us to tackle all at once, and we are starting with the most broadly affected populations, and working down from there. :)

I don't know what driver it uses but my guess would be either a vulnerable driver (like MSI Afterburner did) or the driver isn't signed in a way that complies with Microsoft's Secure Boot requirements.

It is installed on your computer when you install any Riot game (default install location: C:\Riot Games\Riot Client).

The window will show under a few circumstances. For example if you are not logged in or if there is a new patch for the game you are trying to launch or any of its dependencies. A window is opened in order to display progress for the new patch it is downloading.

Are you running into an issues or are you just trying to understand why it sometimes doesn't open a window?

Vanguard is blocking System32 .sys drivers on system start up. xtuacpidriver.sys to be exact. Which is Intel tuning software.

Make sure you have the latest update from the vendor: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU

Extremely old versions of this have been known to cause issues.

Run this command in command prompt:

reg query HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\vgk /v BlockedImage    

The tray icon reads from that location.

The changes to health and ammo UI are incremental. Hopefully they make things a little better without becoming detrimental in other ways. Let us know how they land.

The player edited their comment with the fix (NOINTEGRITYCHECKS was on), I just didn't want to publicly post it out of privacy respects.

Your issue may be different - Player Support has pretty good steps for finding known configurations that can cause issues.

P.S. I had a question too, forgot to ask 😂. My auto guns keep stop firing randomly while holding down LMB. I have checked outside the game and the LMB works fine. Is it because my laptop is on the lower end side of the spectrum? I have a laptop with i5-7200u with GeForce 940MX and 8GB of RAM.

We've seen a few reports of issues like this and we're investigating. Hopefully we can track it down but I suspect a game bug rather than something unique to your computer. Your computer sounds like it should run the game fine!

I'd love for something like this to exist, not sure if/when it'll happen though!
