Pushed some changes. Could somebody try using the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option now, and see what happens please?

Just to reiterate, if you do manage to launch:

Please keep in mind that the Darktide Closed Beta Test is not yet live, and the current expected behaviour is for a Backend Error to appear once the client has loaded. The Closed Beta Test will be live at 12 PM GMT on October 14th.

We are aware of and looking in to the error below, which some players are experiencing on attempting to launch Darktide.

An error occurred while updating Warhammer 40,000 Darktide Closed Beta Test (missing executable)

It is our understanding that this error can persist after using the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option.

We’ve checked your account in the backend and nothing seems out of place.

There is currently a Bretonnian Sword & Shield in your inventory with the illusion applied - were you able to apply it successfully in the end? or could you be trying to apply the illusion to the weapon that already has it?

@Aragomo, from your initial crash report your drivers are slightly outdated. Can I just confirm that you’ve now updated your drivers to the latest version (517.48)?


@Bogmut, can you please share a crash report or console log so we can take a look?

Also, you’ve stated you’re crashing on Startup. Though, can you launch the game successfully on ‘Modded’ realm? (chosen from the launcher options)

It’s my understanding Comodo have whitelisted Easy Anti-Cheat. Do you have the latest version of Comodo installed?

Hi @mofariri,

An Engine Developer has taken a look and informed me that we’ve made no updates in the past few days, so it’s likely to be a local issue. Has anything changed or updated on your system recently? e.g. an OS update?

The crash data is very limited in this instance. As a shot in the dark, you could try restoring your system to an earlier point. Though, this isn’t a guaranteed fix unfortunately :frowning:

Yes, it’s possible for anti-virus software to conflict with EAC. Perhaps instead of removing Comodo, if possible ensure you have firewall and anti-virus exceptions in place for both Vermintide 2 and the Easy Anti-Cheat service.

Hi @FattyShark,

It appears that your GPU is below the minimum requirements for Vermintide 2, so this could be resulting in the crashes you’re experiencing.

Though, you mention that Modded realm is working, which indicates the issue may be related to our Easy Anti-Cheat service.

It seems you’ve already tried all of our usual recommendations in this situation, so I’m a bit of a loss at what to suggest.

In this instance, I’m happy to contact Steam and request a refund on your behalf (providing you purchased through Steam originally), please let me know if this is something you’d wish to do.
