How much RAM do you have?
Can you post any of your logs? You can find them in %APPDATA%/Fatshark/Vermintide 2/console_logs
P.S. Quality settings shouldn’t really affect RAM usage much, but it should affect VRAM usage a lot

This has been addressed internally, to be included in an upcoming patch. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Apologies for the delays, @CoolHand. I hear you. One of our Engine Developers has looked in to your Access Violations but unfortunately could not determine the cause of the crashes.
In your most recent crash however, I see your GPU has essentially disconnected. This is unusual, as in most cases it would simply hang. It’s possible that some wonky GPU behaviour has contributed to the previous Access Violations, although it’s not clear what could be causing the continuous data corruption considering you’ve ran through the checklist with no problems.
The GPU disconnection is certainly something that needs to be addressed, as it’s unusual for an error of this kind to pop up out of the blue, but unfortunately there is no one shot panacea. Solutions include:
I would certainly recommend reaching out to EE when you can, and perhaps request a new router.
What input devices do you have connected to your PC besides keyboard and mouse?
What kind of keyboard\mouse do you have? Do you have any special drivers for them? Like controlling leds, macroses, etc.
Should only be a local change right as opposed to one in her account data. If you know which file is altered, delete that and verify the game cache
Well I’ll be honest, it’s a Windows / Microsoft file as opposed to one of ours so could well be a profile or OS corruption. My next step would be a malware and virus scan and failing that I’d format the OS.
One thing to try is create a new windows user / profile and see if you can run the game there.
Have you run SFC?
You need to run repair on all instances of Visual Studio that allow for it.
Go to your program list, search for “visual” and modify > repair each instance of Visual Studio that lets you.
There was a patch 5 weeks ago. We’re preparing to put the latest updates in to certification this coming week.
Oh I’m so silly. I completely misread this post.
Thank you to the posters above.
could you upload a log from a “slow” startup? they are in %appdata%\Fatshark\Vermintide 2\console_logs
you can match your playsession with the timestamp on the file
There could be information in this that tells us if it’s a step within the vermintide.exe that takes longer time than expected.
Thank you @SmokerT69.
For anybody else also experiencing this issue, if restarting Steam doesn’t work, you can also try:
Very odd! Could you please ensure you have the latest updates installed?
Additionally, please verify integrity via Steam by:
From the Microsoft website:
The UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP bug check has a value of 0x0000007F. This bug check indicates that the Intel CPU generated a trap and the kernel failed to catch this trap.
and
Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or if installed hardware fails.
Sorry to copy pasta, but please read through Microsoft’s recommendations below:
Read moreTroubleshooting: If you recently added hardware to the computer, remove it to see if the error recurs. If existing hardware has failed, remove or replace the faulty component. Run hardware diagnostics that the system manufacturer supplies to determine which hardware component failed.
The memory scanner is especially important. Faulty or mismatched memory can cause this bug check. For more information about these procedures, see the owner’s manual f...
Oh no! Have you verified integrity via Steam?:
Try running the game without any overlay software that hooks D3D dlls\etc.
There might be a million reasons for this slow down, since it’s Windows PC and every machine is unique - i.e. combination of software and hardware.
It can be your AntiVirus or any other protection software. The only way to find this out is to run Even Trace for Windows to collect data
