Hey, sorry to disappoint here but these are specific design decisions that won't be changed.

You can build the Docklands on each of your islands in the Old World and Cape Trelawney (and not just on one) and all will be visited by the Captain. You can then still transport goods you traded between your islands.

Not something we have any influence on as the Anno team, but the game should only be 50% off, not 90% or more, the price shown at check-out is the correct one.
I assume it's a conversion or display error on the store website directly.

Contacting Ubisoft Support is the right way to go, they can forward the issue to the Store Team to get it fixed.

Warmest welcome from Russia and let you, the devs, carry on with your wonderful ideas to make Anno series even more a masterpiece in the world of computer games!!

Are all of you (or someone) the talents who initially started the Anno series or is that a franchise by now? Being a fan of the series for years I totally agree with the community that Anno 1800 does happen to be the best part of the series ever.

How many releases of Anno games have your current team taken part in so far? Keep it going! Fantastic game 😊 Спасибо

Hi u/charmesclub

thank you! Glad to hear you like what we have cooked up :)

I have worked on Anno 2205 + Postlaunch and on Anno 1800 + Postlaunch so far, before that I worked on other projects.

We actually have a couple of veterans that go waaaay back which is extraordinary not only for Anno as a series but also for the games industry itself and it's always nice to hear their "war stories". ^^

Hello u/charmesclub ,

Thank you for all the support :)
Working for Anno 1800 has been a blast!
I have been on the team since Anno 2205. And so far I have worked on

  • Anno 2205 + All DLC
  • Anno 2205 Companion App
  • Anno 1800 + All DLC

We do have a couple of veterans who works since 1602. Quite a few of the dev was part of 1404, 2070, 2205, and 1800. But generally, it's a good mix of seniority.

Will there be any rebalance and improvement to item system? I wish there would be following change:

  1. Rebalance vanilla items

Vanilla items are generally ill-balanced compare to items introduced in later DLC. Items like Mr. Garrick should not supply 100% need of some goods. It should reduce the need of good by 20%~50%. Extra goods bonus should scale according to the value of good. If the bonus good is more valuable than original good, it should produce slower. For example Bruno should provide advanced weapons and steam motors every 10 or 15 cycles instead of 3.

  1. Early game item crafting

Testing item combination is one of my favorite in this game. However it's nearly impossible to do it in early game because the acquisition of items is too random before research institution is built. I wish there would be a way to craft some low rarity items in early game.

This is a very tricky subject, balancing, but I can see where you're coming from.

It's not just tricky cause balancing in any game is a difficult matter, but also cause doing any kind of balance changes has influence on all existing savegames. And Anno players tend to have savegames where they put hundreds of hours into. That's the nature of the game, of course, it's not like Age of Empires where you're done with a match after 2-3h or so.

However, that means that these savegames are built around exactly how certain mechanics work, which values items and production chains have, i.e. the way things are currently balancing. Changing anything now might "destroy" savegames or at least create quite a mess. So, we have to be very careful with changes like these but will see if we can make adjustments.

Hi,

I really like the airships added in the passage DLC in Anno 1800. Do you have any plans to expand this mechanic in the future (adding new kinds of airships for example..)?

We're aware new ships are high on the list for some of you ;)

So, not ruling out new types of ship in general, but if we do more then we'll stick to water-based ones since the airships are exclusive to the Artic session.

hello, will it still be possible to play with two continent islands in multiplayer? Or even more to choose from? this makes the multiplayer much, much better.

Currently there are no plans to have "multiple Crown Falls" in a multiplayer session. But we've heard your feedback regarding this matter and will definitely consider it for future projects.

Why does the newspaper report a war, that I as a player declare on another player, report as negative news?

I think the general assumption is that your Editor simply isn't a fan of war and assumes it will mainly have a negative impact on the people of the Anno world. It's a bit of a "role play" element in the game.

Is there any chance, we'll see submarines in the future?

While we don't rule out new ships, we currently do not have plans to add submarines.

A lot!

But seriously, they should be unlocked now after Tuesday's Game Update.

Yea, I'd like to know as well. I think I as a question about that in AMA with a confirming answer, but the statistics menu doesn't seem to be showing anything new.

No, there aren't any new items with Docklands except two quest-related ones, with one giving you blueprints for a new ship

Items will be added with the next DLC

For me personally this is my first Anno, as I joined Ubisoft a few months prior to the announcement of the game in Spring 2017. However, the Anno team overall is extremely experienced. I was once curious like you are and looked into this question and realized that we had almost 15 people who had previously worked on 1701 still working on Anno 1800- almost 15 years later!

We even have a few people who were previously involved with Anno 1503, which was not even developed in the same studio (and country) as all the games since 1701! So, fair to say that we have a lot of people who know a thing or two about making an Anno game on our team 😊

Best,

Marcel

Will Anno 1800 come to next-gen consoles? (And if yes, please include mouse and keyboard support!)

Right now we are focused on Season 3 for PC, but seeing Anno on consoles one day would indeed be awesome.

If yes in which fantasy world ?

Btw Anno 1800 is a fantastic game !

That is a tricky question! Could it work? Absolutely. Would In love to see it? You bet, I am a huge fantasy fan. However, we also know that many Anno players feel that a certain grounding in history and reality is important for them to their experience, so we would probably have to tread very carefully here (or turn into a separate spin-off). I also agree that Creative Assembly has done a fantastic job with Total Warhammer and deserve all the success they have with it.

If I had to pick a world, I would probably go with Westeros. Between being fairly grounded in reality, a lot of politics, diplomacy and backstabbing and cool different cultures and factions, I could see that working well.

Best,

Marcel, who wrote this with his black cat Jaime Lannister chilling on this lap 😊

It definitely has a Russian interface if you have a version that includes Russian

You're right that we should've also posted it here on the forums, we're working with limited resources at the moment, unfortunately.

The Anno Union, however, has always been the central place for all news and updates around Anno 1800 (and the History Editions). So we definitely recommend checking the website regularly for Patch Notes and DevBlogs as well as News and Announcements.

I've now linked the Release Notes and general news here on the forums, too.

What it's preventing? War->Ceasefire->buff till instant trade rights? Something else?

No, that should be the one.

Thank you for the AMA

We have seen some reports, yes, and there seems to be a connection to the current Nvidia drivers. On older drivers (e.g. from October) the issue is not present.

We're internally investigating it and checking with Nvidia but so far do not have any news on the topic.
