Hmm. I’ll be honest. This doesn’t sound right. I’ve definitely knocked someone and thirsted them in under 1.5 seconds.

This has nothing to do with the clip, but you think gold knockdown shield could get some improvement too? IMO the time you need to get up it's kinda long, also it's making lot of noise while you're doing it so it's pretty easy for someone to notice and take all the time he wants to search where the sound is coming from and kill you.
Unless you have an Octane Pad right where they downed you and nobody notices you, most of the times you're going to get killed without the opportunity of using it
imo, Live balance might be agree with me on this, I think the intention of the current tuning is that Gold Knockdown is not a get out of free jail card. The point IS that is takes a long time and make noises. The important thing that people don't do most of the time, which would greatly empower the gold shield, is playing around your revive and protecting you (like the new lifeline revive).

This was always like this, dunno why OP decided to post just now; it's obvious that it is intended (even though might be frustrating in situations like this one).
Probably that's because downed player has a short animation of falling down + they need some time to understand they're knocked so they could start holding the shield button. Fair enough to make the player who won the fight wait a little.

I'd say to keep it the way it is so people can't immediately thirst kills. Removing it would essentially make the down-shields useless.
I never said I think it should be removed. Just think that there is room for improvement with better player feedback :)
On knockdown there is a 1.5 seconds damage immunity. I could tell it's that mechanic because the timing of when his shield came up is same as when you could start damaging him, but I'll put in a _low_ priority ticket for that mechanic to have better feedback.
Fun fact; I learned this a few hours ago as I was looking at the dying process in Apex.
