Exact in the sense that you get the same missing DLL errors shown in the OP here?

Has this always happened since you've had this game? or only since when?

Does it also happen in HOI4 and Stellaris?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Aside from the temperatures that probably doesn't matter, after the problem occurs is fine for the others.

Me either, in all honesty. It smells like a Windows issue, possibly in search paths, but not one I've come across before.

I take it that HOI4, EU4 and CK2 still run okay?

What if you make another user in Windows, log into Windows as that, and install and play the game from there - any different?

Is that suspect driver now gone entirely? Maybe we can get a new dxdiag.txt please, plus all these files:
Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/system.log , error.log

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

Yes, but in all honesty I lost track of which one. If you are really interested you could revert game versions in the Steam Betas tab.

You shouldn't need to run the .exe as Windows admin. Do you still see those same errors when ck3.exe is run normally from File Explorer?

Those DLLs ought to be in the Steam/steamapps/common/CK3/binaries/ folder- are they in fact there or missing somehow? Because if they were missing running the Steam Verify really ought to replace them.

From hitting PLAY in our launcher to the main game menu took 2'50" on my iMac, 3'30" on my PC. So I'd say you're not doing too badly!

This game does take a long time to load normally. How long is it for you? Has it always been like that for you with this game?

Did you try the clean reinstall of the game?

Please disable all mods while we work on this.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

If those don't help:

Weird that system memory (apparently) affected the video like that ... in any case glad you got there, all the best!

FYI there is no need to keep posting error logs, they contain nothing about hardware crashes like this.

The game crashes in that dxdiag are still in the nVidia driver, which is surprising - you did do the clean reinstall of all nVidia software that I described before?

Indeed there is a crash in NVDisplay.Container.exe there, nothing to do with this game. That really looks like an nVidia software or hardware issue!

Can they not run off the default usbaudio driver from Microsoft?

If not I'm not sure what else to suggest, sorry!

I have no idea, sorry, I don't use mods - maybe try the User Mods forum on that? Same with the version search question.

Frankly that sounds like a computer or Windows problem, some issue in the audio or video area. I notice this in that dxdiag:
Sound Tab 1: The file CMUAC.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.
And that device uses a really old driver:
Description: Speakers (Rage X60)
Default Sound Playback: Yes
Default Voice Playback: Yes
Driver Name: CMUAC.sys
Driver Version: 8.1.12.26 (English)
Date and Size: 13/02/2015 00:00:00, 613888 bytes
Driver Provider: C-MEDIA Inc. ...

Hard to say really, it's not a known issue with the game on any OS.

This is literally any mod whatsoever, such new music or flags for instance? Or only large ones?

Have you confirmed they are updated to work with the current game patch ?

Has it always been like this for you, or only since when?

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2021.9

This problem happens only in MP play, and only when Discord is running, is that right? You can play okay in MP with no Discord, AND in SP with Discord, but not both?

Has this always happened since you've had the game? Or it was okay up to some point?

EDIT: Added error log.
In future please start your own thread - similar symptoms do not necessarily come from the same root cause.

If you run the CK3 executable directly from a terminal command line, what output do you get when it fails then?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.
