That is a core Windows folder, put there at installation time I believe. I can't understand how it can not be there for you, it doesn't seem likely you deleted it accidentally.

Can you make a folder with that name there then?

Sorry, I forgot that it's hidden by MS. Click on View up the top there and tick Hidden Items and File Extensions.

In File Explorer click on This PC , then on Local Disk C: . You should see the /Windows/ folder; double click on that and you should see that Installer folder.

Please delete the whole contents of that /Installer/ folder (NOT the folder itself). They are all temporary files.

That should do it!

I see you have EU4 too. Can you please both run EU4 and choose the Nakama option ; does it have the same problem? Because it uses the same MP services.

Is that just with that one save? Or also with any other save or new campaign you might try?

Does it matter who is host?

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Sorry, why exactly can you not switch mods? What happens when you try?

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2021.8.1

Interesting, I haven't see other such reports.

Doe this also happen with our other games that use that launcher, say EU4 or Imperator?

Has this game ever worked on this machine, whether via GFN or not?

When run locally instead of from GFN do you get the same problem?

Rest assured we're investigating this further and both the CKIII and tech team are trying to figure out the cause (and a solution!) but sadly there isn't a confirmed workaround for the time being :(. We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.

Is that new, it did not show that before?

I found this useful post on that error:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/error-0x80073d05-installing-windows-store/c1d82b91-35f4-4f91-bd95-277723129680
If that doesn't help you may need to contact Windows support yourself.

Good luck with that!

That error log still looks pretty bad, as you can see. You are confident you made sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again?

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

From that error log you have a bad installation, AND at least one bad mod! Now it's hard to see how that could cause that hardware issue, but let's try fixing it anyway:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- unsubscribe from ALL mods in the Steam workshop for this game
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

Assuming that doesn't help with the main problem, are there Windows Event Viewer entries created by th... Read more

As you can see that log is still full of errors that look like game corruption. After all we've done I can't understand how that can still be happening. I am assuming they are what leads to the crashes you eventually get.

Can we get a new save game, started after the clean reinstall, that crashes please?
