Is performance acceptable?

Whether there is some obscure bug in the game vs DX11 that affects you, or some Windows issue here, is not at all clear to me I have to admit.

Royal Court has not yet been released.  

Apparently there is no DX9 option any more, but OpenGL has been tested to work. It is case sensitive so paste that in exactly.  

Note that Eu4 has its own performance issues regardless of OS - probably not a good test subject for the M1.

I don't think it's possible to be in debug mode but not have the debug menu showing. You'd need to exit the game and remove the -debug_mode launch option.  

Not an overheating issue then.

But some of those video errors have come back, which is very disappointing. Not sure what to make of that, to be honest.

Let's try running the ame in other modes. Edit that pdx_settings.txt:

Please try DX9 and then OpenGL in that section - to be honest I'm not 100% sure what the right format for either is, if neither of them work I'll have to run this past my Manager in Paradox.  

If your issue is caused by the game/launcher/nakama, The situation has continuously improved, in the sense that fewer and fewer users are affected.

However it is possible to get similar symptoms from external causes like firewalls, slow internet connections and so on.  

That error log looks much better , we've definitely fixed a video driver issue.

I see a mod error though - you are doing all this testing with no mods at all enabled, is that right?

After it crashes can you start right up again? Or do you need to reboot, or wait a while, before the game will run?


Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.

There are several LiveKernelEvent entries in there. They happen when the machine is forcibly downed or rebooted. Are you seeing those yourself? If so are they related to this game or something else?

The nVidia driver could stand updating so let's go a clean reinstall of it:

- uninstall it and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest from here:
Download Drivers | NVIDIA - reboot again

Very likely a MS issue. Do they show in the MS store app as you owning them?  

As you can see from that error log there is a problem in the video/graphics area.

In the left column of File Explorer right click on Documents, just under This PC there. Go to Properties, Location. What does it say in there please?

That was me, and I am not a developer! Just a tech support contractor. I was just giving my best take on the likely situation, which is in no way to be taken as Paradox's official stance.

The current game version is 1.4.4 , how is it you are on 1.4.2?

How can you have no launcher? From where exactly did you get the game please?  

What DLCs does it say are missing? Do they show in the launcher's DLC tab okay?  

Steam, Epic or something else?

Have they ever worked for you?


What game version and checksum do you see in the MP lobby?
