Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Note that you can run ck3.exe directly from File Explorer, which bypasses the launcher.

The game ought to be playable on that hardware. It is and was mainly on intel video systems that there were problems.

Your machine only has 4gb of system memory, and the published minimum requirement for this game is 6gb. Possibly the newer game patch is more picky about meeting that spec. Can you add memory? Certainly exit every other app you can before starting this game, and expand your Windows paging file to at least 8gb.

You should also update that nVidia driver to August 2021:

Okay then, I'm glad we're on the same page now!

Probably best at this point to check in the Bug Reports forum here, see if there are other reports of that silver edging issue already - I'm pretty sure there would be. Please add your screenshots and thoughts to that thread.

Thanks and good luck!

You have not uploaded dxdiag.txt here, only the other three files I asked for. You'll need to generate it in the way I described first of course!

Well if that is so, there is nothing you or I can do about it here! It would need a game patch.

But my question was more, what benefit do you believe AA would give you? If you are concerned about the silver edging you see on many characters, that is basically universal since game launch. Not sure what that's about to be honest!

Or do you see some other visual issue you believe would be solved by AA?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Helmet is a Linux thing, I recall vaguely, is that right?

Regardless, can I ask what problem you are trying to fix here? Do you have a graphics issue of some sort?

In the game launcher please set Display mode to windowed. THEN go here:

This article lists the download links for the latest versions of Visual C++. support.microsoft.com support.microsoft.com And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

IF that doesn't help, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

Then it's hard to see why they are not working.

What antivirus app do you use? You need to make sure all these apps are in its exceptions lists:

CK3.exe (in the Steam CK3/binaries folder)
dowser.exe (in the Steam CK3/launcher folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2021.6/paradox launcher.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe

Good luck!

The process I posted above is exactly meant to address that issue, but you don't mention it. Please go through it.

That's an old file, it not being there is nothing to do with your problem.

Is this the Steam edition of the gam eor another one?

Are the mods from the Steam workshop or elsewhere?

What launcher version do you see? Current is 2021.6

Do the mod files physically exist in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/ folder?

I don't know how to do that, you might check in the User Mods forum.

For the future though best to disable that DLC before you host MP games.

The emulated video system in Parallels does not meet the game's minimum requirements, I'm sure that is the problem here.

Is there any reason why you are not running the game under MacOS?

You rproblem sounds more like a game/Windows issue than a launcher problem. I assume running ck3.exe and imperator.exe directly from File Explorer also fails?

If so, In the game launcher please set Display mode to windowed. THEN go here:

Hi there!

Thank you very much for the report! Unfortunately, provided information in this thread does not help us replicate the issue, as the game runs as normal.

Could you perhaps attach a video, save and a DxDiag from your computer showcasing the problem for possible resolution? Thank you in advance!
