There is nothing in those logs to say why the launcher - specifically bootstrapper-v2.exe - is not even attempting to update from that older version to 2021.6 . Normally we'd see a comms or permissions error. So I'm not really sure where to go from here on this one!
Maybe set dowser.exe and bootstrapper-v2.exe to run as the Windows Admin user?
First of all - I'm deeply sorry for having this issue fly under the radar like this. Considering the usual playstyle of people and the adversity towards Elective systems, it's quite likely this has been missed as a potential important issue. This is where the upvoting system really helps us locate and isolate rogue bugs such as this one.
Second of all - I managed to reproduce this issue locally. I've created a bug in our database for the team for further investigation.
This is as much as I can do at the moment, I'd advise staying away from the Elective system for Empires for the time being as to avoid getting the realm fractured.
I wish you all the best in future CK3 endeavors and I hope you still enjoy the game as much as I do!
I tried replicating it, however was not able to achieve the same results. Is it possible that any of your installed mods could affect your game in the way shown in the screenshot?
Could you potentially remove or disable any visual mods in the game and see if the issue can be replicated?
Please, let me know as soon as you are able to verify the problem.
I reckon the performance is quite tied to the amount of calculation the game has to do for each troop - thus, larger armies and realms tend to slow the game down considerably due to the amount of computing it has to do to account for each army stack.
Thank you very much for the report! I have logged a ticket in our database for further investigation.
I'm sorry I cannot provide much more help in this crash issue, as there doesn't seem to be a case where the game can be saved. I hope that it hasn't ruined your plans and wasted your time conquering the world too much!
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing stability problems. Have you tried the following?
Verify game integrity using Steam options.
Perform a reinstall of the game.
Perform a clean reinstall of the game (backup your documents folder, launch the game after the reinstall, insert your options and saves back into the documents folder)
You can find them in your Documents/Crusader Kings III folder, under the crash log. The newest one should be the one that has occurred in your game. Please, zip it and embed in this thread so we can log the ticket in for investigation!
