That is basically the opposite of the normal symptoms of poor performance ... hard to see what could cause that, to be honest.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPE... Read more

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

Can I get a save that includes this character so I can see if it happens to me too, please?

It depends if you are having a problem, or just haven't been able to work out how it works. A large minority of people are having difficulties with MP in this game, just as being logged out or unable to connect - is that what you see?

If that just says a newer version is already installed, that's fine. If it said anything else, please tell us what that is!   ... Read more

I went into the designer and slid a few sliders, and the CK3 memory usage just went up to 3.2gb, nowhere near what you are seeing. I moved some more and it didn't change from that.

So I can't really explain what you are seeing. Is there perhaps a particular slider that does it, or traits or something?

I am new here and hope to find a solution for my problem....

I have a new gaming laptop with the following hardware:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
16 GB Ram 3200MHZ
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB
Windows 10

With my built-in hardware, the game should run smoothly, but I can't play the game at all...

As soon as I am in the menu of CK3 I have extremely low frame rates and the game plays extremely jerky. From time to time the frames jump to 144 but as fast as this happens, they are also down.... It doesn't matter if I...

My guess is either there is a dedicated power cable going to the video card that was not connected, or the PSU was not able to supply enough power for the GPU's top-end requirements and they put in a more powerful PSU.

Ah, that is a shame!

By all means post it in Bug Reports, but if it's truly empty it will probably not be possible to track down why it happened, I'm sorry.

Are you sure this is not a setting in the game? If you're not sure, delete the Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt file which will reset everythng to defaults.

Your Windows is a little behind, is there perhaps a major update downloading? I've seen that cause symptoms like this.

I see some Windows Update errors in that dxdiag, if you run the updater does it work okay? Find anything to apply?

If it's not that it's probably the video driver. Please:

- uninstall the existing driver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest by fresh download from here:
Download Drivers | NVIDIA - reboot again

Good luck with that!

The 1.2.x patches have reduced the breadth of impact of the MP issue, but unfortunately not fixed in for everyone. Work continues every day.

Sorry about this!

In Documents/paradox/ck3/ there should be last_save.ck3 - does that have the same problem?
