I frankly don't know if what you see there is expected or not on your video system, although of course you would expect lower graphics quality with that option off. On my nVidia 1060 it looks somewhat similar but I'd say better than you see.

With the fps thing, is it just the higher fps number you are after? Or does it make for better general performance too?

This is a widespread issue since the game was released, and is nothing to do with being on Linux, FYI.

After much work and analysis it's improved somewhat but it still affecting many people.

The latest hope I have is that the next patch 1.2 will address it fully.

Sorry about that!

Destrark said: Starting a new campaign, none of my saves or auto-saves are being detected.
That sounds like a separate problem - these are saves with no mods in use also?

Work has continued on this since the game was released, and we had hopes that certain changes and fixes done in both Sept and Oct would fix it but clearly not so. They did reduce the breadth of impact though so that's something.

So I hope you didn't read somewhere official that it was definitely fixed for everyone in Oct!

My hope is the next game patch 1.2 , but unfortunately we don't have a date for that yet.

Sorry for this ongoing problem!

Do you still have the previous card, if so can you test with that in?

Sorry about this, I am struggling to think of what this could be that is affecting you with this card but not the other card!

Does unloading geforce experience change anything?

If not, I think it's worth investigating this as a possible hardware issue.

I understand that. My question was whether this happened back when you were first on those patches, before 1.1.3 came out?

Destrark said: Hello. I am having the same problem with the game freezing on a white screen with a barely visible ck3 logo and progress circle when I try to go to the map.
Is this when starting the game, loading an existing save, or starting a new campaign?

FylkirTotil said: Something must have changed there because the issue does happen when I use versions 1.0.2 and 1.0.3.
I assume you mean "does not happen" ... ?

Did it happen when you were on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 previously, before 1.1.3 came out?

What happens if you disable Vsync in the game, and set the refresh cap to 60 ?

Other ideas I've seen include disabling autosave, and bloom in the video settings - any different?

That is a shame, very unusual for two copies of a game to be corrupted. Any mods in use here?

I'd suggest you turn autosaves on though ... !

Do you mind if I see a screenshot of that page?

But if for some reason the launcher needs o run as Admin in your machine, you can set that in properties-compatibility for the launcher files:

dowser.exe (in the Steam CK3 folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe

Steam Verify cannot check a saved game file for integrity, only the game itself.

If the game crashes when loading a save , that save is either bugged or corrupted. Under Documents/paradox/ck3/ you should see last_save.ck3 , can you load that okay?

That still tends to point to an antivirus issue - you successfully added all three of those .exe files to the Ransomware feature exceptions, is that right?

In the Windows search box enter Ransomware. Enable Controlled Folder Access if disabled then add ck3.exe to the Apps Allowed Through list in there.

You may need to add steam.exe and C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe to that list.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

The game hasn't changed for a few weeks now, so I guess somethign else on your system changed or updated itself recently. Hard to guess hat though.

Maybe the nVidia driver? A slightly newer one just came out, so try that:

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.
