I see crashes in your Radeon software there, and the AMD driver is old. Please:

- uninstall the existing AMD driver and software with this tool:
https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx - reboot
- install the one from May 2020 from here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download - reboot again

Good luck with that!

But you can from ck3.exe directly, are you saying?

Either way has it ever worked?

What launcher version do you see?

This is a bug in the 1.1.3 patch and should be fixed soon.

Sorry about that!

Definitely an issue in the video area, as you say. We're mostly seeing this still on AMD GPUs, like you have.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

What antivirus app do you use?
Add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

You may need to add steam.exe and C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.13/paradox launcher.exe to that list.

You subscribe to mods via the Paradox launcher/mod site also.

Official_Vicx said: Sorry for replying so late,

It happens to all of the saves and it is on the most recent patch
Just to be clear - it happens on saves that were started under the current patch 1.1.3 , is that right?

Benaker said: Hi - I'm also having the same error. I've updated the launcher and restarted, and even reinstalled, but no luck in starting the game.

I'm getting the below error code:

./ck3: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.27' not found (required by ./ck3)
./ck3: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.25' not found (required by ./ck3)

My updates manager says I'm fully up-to-date, but I think this means my GNU C Library is out of date, which might be a pretty advanced issue? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks! ...

Please delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/ . Then run the game from the PLAY Button in Steam, to reinstall the launcher.

If that does not get the launcher running, we will need these files from that same folder:

Attach ALL .log files Found here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods
- delete the folder Documents/paradox/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/paradox/CK3/mods_registry.json
- delete the file Documents/paradox/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite
- subscribe to a few mods
- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Probably best to do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

If still a problem can I get new copies of those files in post #2 please.

Is this just this one save that causes this? or any one?

If just this one, what game patch version was it started under?

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Lots of errors in there, I have to say. Any mods involved? Is this just in one particular campaign, or any one you are in?

Yes, something happened late last week to cause this, to everyone so far as I know. It will be raised with Paradox today.

Gerdenberg said: I have run the game through steam on my laptop just through Steam. I've also run the game through GFN on my laptop, but I still have the same problem with the Shield.
That response was actually to another user here, rather than you as such ... in any case the Shield is a whole other level of complication here, I frankly don't know what to suggest. So far as I know none of our products are tested on it.

I don't see the need, but come back to us if you get any problem!

Yes, this technique moves ALL the user files - settings, logs, caches, crash files - not just the saves.

I don't think there's any risk in doing it during a playthrough, but up to you of course.

That shot shows th elauncher has installed an update, but you haven't restarted it for that update to take effect. I assume if you run it again now, you get no light or error up the top left of the launcher? And it shows 2020.13 now?

Run the game's executable from a terminal command line; when it fails what output do you see there?
