I see you have Norton AV; while that in general out not to be a problem once the game has started, do make sure ck3.exe is in all its exceptions lists.

Stop Nahamic from loading at boot time then reboot.

Unload GeForce Experience before starting the game.

I don't know what all those ASUS utilities do; if any of them do overclocking (or indeed if you have any overclocking at all from any source!) please disable it.

Please install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

Used to report what in those ranges, sorry?

CK3 is of course not incompatible with Win10 or 11 - that's what it is developed on!

ElektrikRush said: everytime I put the refresh rate at 60, I see it go back to 144
I've seen that recently with a number of games, not sure what causes it - hardware, video driver, or what. What actual rate are you seeing? If it's more than 60 can you cap it with some other utility?

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam
OR
- exit the Epic app entirely
- run EpicGamesLauncher.exe as the Windows Admin user
- run the game from the Epic client

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users/{userName}/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

IF that doesn't help please attach new copies of all those files, plus
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Well, we can't report it as a bug unless we think it is likely to be a game bug - QA would have to reproduce it locally to pass onto the developers, which I'm quite sure they would not be able to do (or everyone would get this!).

Make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that - does it still happen?

Are you sure? That patch was only the latest from 2022-06-29 to 2022-09-08, 6 months before you started this thread.

With the Steam app in focus, look up the very top-left of the Mac screen. You'll see titles Steam-Account-View etc. The last one is Help, System Info is in there.

And please attach all this requested info as text files rather than pasting in their contents here, thanks.

Bouwulf said: Moreover, what is the logic of not making a patch save game compatible?
Sometimes it is unavoidable, the extent of changes between patches can make it impossible to maintain compatibility.

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters
Go to Windows Control panel.
Click on Network & Internet.
Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

In your scenario, DLCs bought from us would have to be supplied to you from the MS/Gamepass servers, even though they received none of your money for them. They're never going to do that!

When you buy from our store you get a Steam key, so it is functionally the same as buying from Steam, or one of their other resellers

The general answer is: Steam rarely (if ever) plays well with others, which means that in general having the original game from one source and the DLC from Steam (or vice versa) is not going to work.

I cannot give you a specific answer, though, but my guess would be that it won't work.

Desktop? Not Documents? Odd if so but I guess not an issue as such.

See if a new Speccy output still shows BD running; AV apps are notoriously hard to completely uninstall as that's what some malware tries to do. If it still shows there, use Ccleaner and Revo Uninstaller to completely remove it.

If that doesn't help at all, I cannot see wat in this machine/Windows setup is causing this to you, I am sorry!

I'm not quite sure what you are saying - this only happens with GFN, or it happens whether you play locally or via GFN?

And you see it under Windows and MacOS?

If that widespread, it does seem odd that this would go unreported for so long. FYI I can't replicate it on either OS.

And is this in the main game menu, while playing, or both?

Is this an Apple Silicon (M1/M2) Mac? if so, the short answer is probably "nothing" I'm afraid!

Otherwise, does it have an Intel or AMD video system?
