As AC Denton said, a higher popular opinion serves as a buffer from potential drops. On its face that doesn't sound very useful, but it has ripple effects elsewhere.

For example, a higher popular opinion means you can wage longer offensive wars without generating populist/peasant uprisings.

Greetings!

A few weeks ago we shared our floor plan for the future, and this week I’d like to give you some tidbits from the studio itself. I will tell you a bit about the history of our studio and what we are about - interlaced with random quotes from the team collected throughout the year (courtesy of Wokeg - I think they paint a pretty accurate picture of the minds in our midst).
So if you are eagerly awaiting updates on what’s coming for the actual game, I’m afraid you will have to wait a little longer.

I still think the Civilization games are remarkable at what they do and 100% worth experiencing, but imo Grand Strategy games are a natural progression from there for players who are wanting a more... immersive type of gameplay.

As for the OP's question, I'd say it comes down to why you enjoy Civilization. If you enjoy the theatric aspect and the experience of learning about the cultures and history on display, then any of the historical Paradox GSGs (be it Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, etc) are likely to be right up your alley.

You're telling me to click 'raise all armies', right? Already did that - only my own troops raised, the mercs did not. And now the raise all troops button is no longer clickable as explained above; no offence but please read what's written beyond the just the title, before replying.

In fact just to reinforce what I've said above, the mercs contract has ...

  • Accusing someone of being unable to read
  • Calling someone a liar for saying they had no problems with scaling
  • Accusing someone of being toxic fo...

It's a known issue; development team is designing a solution but there's no timeline on implementation at this point.
