Hello People of The Fog,

Since announcing Dead by Daylight Mobile last June, we’ve been hard at work to bring the classic Dead by Daylight experience to Mobile. We’ve made plenty of updates, changes, improvements, and bug fixes over the past few months and we’re proud of what we have achieved so far.

However, after taking time to thoroughly assess the state of the game, we know we need to further polish it to meet players’ standards, as well as our own. Therefore, despite a lot of hard work this year from the mobile dev team, our official release will not be coming in 2019 and will be postponed until 2020.

The Nightmare

  • Outdoor Rope add-on: Reduced the action speed debuff from 6% to 2%.
  • Jump Rope add-on: Reduced the action speed debuff from 9% to 4%.
  • Swing Chains add-on: Reduced the action speed debuff per sleeping Survivor from 3% to 2%.

The Oni

  • Renjiro's Bloody Glove add-on: Blood orbs are now absorbed by Survivors who come in contact with them. The aura reveal duration has been reduced from 3 seconds to 2 seconds, however, the duration stacks if multiple blood orbs are absorbed. 
  • Updated turn ratio of The Oni Demon Dash ability to improve controller turn-rate and hard-cap turning with keyboard.

For the past few months, we have been hard at work on an update to the forums behind the scenes. While our forums have their own charm, we want to bring them up to date and make them more inline with the rest of the game. We've tried out some different themes in the past, and we've taken your feedback from those tests to create something unique to Dead by Daylight. At this point, we're close enough to a final product that we're ready to share the changes with you.

Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress; some artwork is not final, there may be some placeholder stuff lying around, and there are some issues that will be fixed before this goes live. Some of the new features may not be available right away when we first launch this update.

Since the release of Tome I Level III earlier this week, we have been keeping an eye out for feedback regarding the difficulty of challenges. While we intended for challenges to get gradually more difficult from one Level to the next, between your feedback and playing through the Tome ourselves, this most recent Level ended up being a little harder than we’d like, creating frustration for those who just want to complete the Tome and Rift. With this in mind, we have decided to reduce the requirements for most Level III challenges.

Despite her traditional upbringing, Yui Kimura raced scooters in her hometown of Hida where she earned the reputation of being able to do the impossible with very little.

Her father did his best to steer her away from what he believed to be masculine pursuits, but her grandmother secretly shared her grandfather’s engineer manuals and notes on car and motorcycle engines. Yui read her grandfather’s manuals and learned fast.

Stats are back at last! We've taken some time to gather some data and make some fancy graphs for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to let us know if you'd like to see more regular stat releases in the future! Since it has been a while since we last shared stats, these graphs show data from the past three months unless otherwise stated. Please keep in mind that numbers are not everything; there are a whole bunch of factors that could influence these numbers.

Killer power vs. popularity

Starting off with how frequently killers are played compared to how well they tend to do on average. A 50% kill rate would be the equivalent of two survivors dying and two survivors escaping.

Status Update on the Nintendo Switch

We are still working on getting the update ready for the Nintendo Switch. In testing, we discovered some platform specific issues that prevented us from releasing the mid-chapter at the same time as other platforms. We are currently testing a potential build and hope to release it as soon as we are confident with its performance. The Switch will jump straight to version 3.2.2 when the update goes live.
