I'd not call it 'mini-hubs', but yes the intention is to transport everything around, just like in real life.

IMO Ore distribution chart is less important then server adverts.

I do absolutely not agree, unfortunately. It's one of the most asked questions and much more important than server ads. The amount of stuff happening is not a good measurement for importance.

But I probably will remake the other pinned post, change the links that are very outdated and add other 'pinned posts' as links to it so that we can make a megathread for server-ads. Just moderating that one will probably get worse.

Hey, even though your server is liked very much the rules also apply to yours - only one ad per cycle. I hence removed this post.

Well, it's a community wiki. Everyone that complains about it, can help out changing it ;)

Yeah the wiki just recently went down, but I'm not sure why. And even when it was up, it wasn't well maintained. Absolutely needs a better version, there's a lot about this game that's not well explained.

The wiki has been replaced by https://wiki.play.eco since 14 months. It just took that long to actually get them to take down the ad-ridden old one that had zero activity anymore due to people moving to ours after removing the agreed on redirecting link two times without notifying us. I'll rather leave it at that. To say the best: I did not make any good experiences with Gamepedia.

Haha, no, that is intended.
And yes, Pineapple Friend Rice is as well :D

If I can ever find out how to make reddit allow me to pin more than two threads. Everytime i pin a third one a random other one is gone.

But why change it? As it is currently, managing stockpiles is already a huge hassle. I know your team likes to go for realism, but the balance between realism and fun needs to be maintained. It's not fun carrying ore out of a mineshaft one handful at a time. How are you expecting players to move products put of mines if you can't leapfrog stockpiles?

I'd not consider several truckloads full in an elevator 'one handful at a time', nor would I agree with that not being fun. It's a subjective opinion after all.

But depending on how the "fix" is implemented it will have effects on the stockpile organization work.

I only wanted to state that we consider 2 an exploit - hence on servers that prohibit exploits (there is some, including an official one) that might be a bannable offense and that we plan to remedy that in the future. That is not going to happen tomorrow and it's neither set on how it happens. We'll make sure to consider player options for stockpile managment and transportation - but manual labour is intended in that process.

Conveyor belts for small-range transportation in factory buildings is something we consider for the bit of automation we want to do, but aside from other games, the focus in Eco will never be in automation and instead will ever also focus on good old manual work.

For the mines we expect players to use the elevators. Transporting stuff via trucks and the elevator of course is not as convenient as just teleporting it to the top, but it's the intended way.

Also if you haven't bought Rimworld, buy it. Full price. Double price. Doesn't matter.

Well Rimworld to my knowledge did not do sales during EA and that's what was stated.

Eco does take part in the the major Steam sales with a maximum discount of 15% that we will not surpass during Early Access. The next major one would probably be spring sale sometime in May.

The magically appearing free tools have been removed a good while ago - the wiki is community run, so you can update it yourself, if you want.

Well, what the fix is going to prevent is large scale stockpile transporting, especially mineshafts up or over larger distances. It's not about you sorting your storage area, but teleporting your ores up or your stuff to another base.

That has never been intended to be possible and that's the definition of an exploit.

This will make stockpile reorganization a MUCH bigger pain in the ass :(

Not yet, no.

2 will be fixed though, as it's considered an exploit.

Official servers only start on Fridays, typically every week at around 21 CET. That time can vary and on some Fridays it is possible that no server starts, such information can be found on the discord.

It's a known issue that is already partially fixed. There have lately been additional changes for a full fix that probably will make it to 9.3. I'm not aware of any 'workarounds', unfortunately.

The server size is limited by the three coordinates multiplied going higher than the maximum integer value. This means, the bigger the world is the more limited is the maximum height until it reaches a point where the maximum height is lower than the highest mountain to generate and the server hence crashes. The maximum supported size is 4km² (200 x 200), any size above will not get support when issues arise.

For a 4 km² world you want at least 16 GB of RAM if you plan on having an active public server, scaling beyond is not tested, as it's not supported.

There are no PvP mods to my knowledge. If there were, you couldn't find them on the official modding pages, though, as we do not endorse those.

Comment

No, Eco does not have hot springs or thermal power currently.
