As a veteran you know that EVE Online is a constantly evolving merciless world where things can change in an instant, not much unlike real life. A core element of the game is the players ability to adapt to change, thankfully, else this 18 year old game would quickly go stagnant.
Will these changes be reverted? Only time will tell. Will other changes come?

Thanks for all the feedback. I’m afraid I can’t reply to every post on the forum, but I assure you that I’m reading them all.

A small update:

• We have identified that some Nvidia + older macOS versions (10.14 specifically) have a driver defect which can cause rendering issues as experienced by @JPVOODOO, @Darianne_Cesaille . We have been trying to find a solution to stop these, but as it’s at the driver level, we are limited in what we can do. A rorqual is great thing to set your sights on, a perfect milestone I think. I’m currently training up for a Heretic after having one of the GMs singing to me the gospel of the interdictors. Only 13 more days to go.

OP updated to remove references to SSO with today’s update.

To confirm, the only change made today (after delays) was the removal of /v4/characters/
{character_id}.

I mistakenly reproduced the wrong blog in OP but I have updated it with the correct notification that was originally provided on developers.eveonline.com earlier this month. I have left the reproduction of the other blog underneath.

Today some changes to ESI were deployed, which may have caused some issues with third party applications that were not up to date. Although these changes were announced in a dev blog earlier this month, due to issues with the developers.eveonline.com website rendering blogs inaccessible it may not have been properly communicated to all third party developers and we apologise for this. We have had reports from players for some third party applications failing, so we are reproducing the contents of the blog here for developers:

We are looking into the issue with some Intel GPUs on Windows 7 failing to launch the client. If you are experiencing this issue, can you please file a bug report with DXDiag included?

From what I’ve seen so far, it is a GPU driver issue, with the drivers being very outdated (7+ years in some cases). Unfortunately, Intel stopped supporting Windows 7 on many of these older GPUs so it is unlikely there will be an unofficial update.

We didn’t intentionally break this (of course!), but Windows 7 is getting more difficult to support due to issues like this . We’ll see if we can find a workaround.

I know it’s only been 3 months, but how do you feel about PvP when you’re half way to 6 months?

Ok first thing to check;
Turn this on in your launcher settings;

Then make sure to enable DX11.

We’re also monitoring this on our end, but these 2 steps are known to fix fps problems in certain setups.

There will be an extended downtime on Tuesday, 26 October, lasting until 11:45 UTC. A continuation from last weeks’ extended downtime which began the process of fully cabling a new SAN, replacing the DB hardware, and upgrading to SQL Server 2019. The server may be back up a bit earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule.

We’ll keep you updated on this thread and the EVE Status Twitter account if there are any noteworthy developments.

Yes we’re currently experiencing some issues: 20211024 - Issues with some player-facing services

UPDATE 19:27 UTC - Services should now be working normally again. Any PLEX that was in pending transactions should reappear in players’ vaults.

UPDATE 17:20 UTC - Work on the problem is ongoing.

Some backend issues have occurred on TQ which may have an effect on player-facing services. You may be experiencing issues with ESI, PLEX vaults, activity tracker and skill plans. Our team is looking into the problem now and we will keep you updated here and on the EVE Status Twitter account.
