Hey there, thanks for reaching out. We continued (and concluded) this discussion via Discord.

For those finding this thread: This particular issue is quite rare and we unfortunately can't address it on console versions, but we can modify save files on the PC version of the game to fix the issue.

One extra note:
While in the announcement we say the Demo has been updated, we hit an update roadblock and need to make several fixes first. As such, the Demo's update is scheduled to drop in about one week's time. Thanks for understanding!

Everspace concluded development before the Xbox Series S was launched and is not being worked on anymore.
From what I can find the Xbox Series S received the same performance options as the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X and Series X both have the same high-performance options.

Be sure to upgrade your weapons and ship modules regularly. One of the main observations of mine is that equipment levels are often below player level around lvl 7.

If that isn't the issue, you can always go to the job board at Nephtys Plains and grab some missions. :)

In addition to Hazzy's comment:
Inertia dampeners off =/= plane-like controls. We have no aerofoil simulation (for performance and space reasons), meaning you won't continue moving "forward" (towards the nose of your ship/spacecraft) if you bost forward while inertia dampeners are off.

What happens is your ship will no longer counter your inertia to try and keep you stable / in place when you aren't providing input.Disabling inertia dampeners is useful when in combat or travelling farther, as you won't have to worry about boost energy while keeping your speed up.

Hope this helps clarify any misunderstanding, here or anywhere else in the future. :)

The reality is that if the moon was a gas giant then then it would make the supermassive rocky type (earth like) so massive that the gravity would be sucking the moon in at such a rate that it would crashing very soon. I'd also expect to see the atmosphere being sucked down already.

You are right, a planetary system like this would be impossible according to our current knowledge of physics. Good thing Everspace Classic isn't a sim, right? :D
The main issue here is that the ingame FOV isn't ideal for taking screenshots.

Heya!
Our team is working hard on getting the new content update through Microsoft Certification; it should be available on the Microsoft Store before the end of the month. :)

Depending on your local file age, so time since the last update, it could be that the entire game on your disk will be replaced with a newer version.
After that's done once, this will no longer be an issue. Since each update after last is divided into smaller files for more efficient patching and updating. :)

75GB is an estimate of filesize at full release. Subject to change, of course.
It's recommended to have 75GB free for ES2 just in case. :)

Thanks for your positive feedback! :D

Hi there, sorry for the delayed response.
The Xbox Game Preview is the full game, up to the most recent content update, with a time limit.

You should be able to change the roll axis in; settings -> Input -> Customize Controls -> Roll Axis. Beware that when making such a change, you have to rebind the Axis you are unbinding.

If you run into any issues, feel free to comment here and I'll try my best to help. :)

That comes as a surprise, considering the problems they had with Everspace 1 and the Microsoft Store environment (in a nutshell, I had to buy the game on Steam because they were unable to continue pushing updates to the gamepass version, until they finally decided to remove the game from there).

Yeah, it was quite painful because we had to support UE4 under UWP, which was utterly broken. Also, both Microsoft and Epic changed a lot of things regarding Xbox/Windows User Management throughout development, conflicting with our implementation when there was no out-of-the-box solution available.
It should be less complicated now since we can work with an out-of-the-box WinGDK Unreal  Engine version provided and maintained directly by Epic. The XDK integration and user management are in much better shape today.
That said, the submission process is still much more complex technically and bureaucratic than on Steam or GOG; there are still quite a few things to do for making it through Microsoft Certification, so updates on the Windows Store will likely be a few days behind.

To be clear, though, "until they finally decided to remove the game from there" is NOT true: ...

Hey there, I see you found the issue but wanted to affirm you here: This requires the latest drivers. The DLSS option won't show unless you're updated.
