All classes and nearly all specs are competitive in one game mode or another. Definitely in end-game instanced PvE all classes have a spec that’s viable or even top-tier.

Hello there.
Likely going to be a decision based on the difficulty in getting it. The skyscale is definitely more useful as an all-rounder and climbing vertically where the griffon is much more about going fast in the air.
However, griffon is generally considered the way faster acquisition especially if you have the 250g sink covered for it.
Spirit shards are a rarer resource that generally involves getting them while you do other things. They are also the progression beyond masteries as you get them after them and generally want your xp to go towards masteries first anyway. That said, they are highly useful and you will need a lot of them when you actually need them or want to make gold off of them, which is the position I assume you are in.
Definitely ensure you have all of your buffs on and generally towards experience/ss acquisition :
10% guild experience boost on every character
20%/etc for your enrichment (Upgrading your amulet to ascended first on each character is ideal for this reason)
25% rest buff with EoD and Arborstone masteries, definitely max this as fast as possible and log characters off in Arborstone
On your farmers, I like as a separate character so I can keep buffs up that only tick while I'm actually farming/playing. Use your experience boost, birthday boost, wintersday/...
This has kinda been my feeling too. I know it's more than that, but when the newer player find out one chapter is basically putting down roadmarkers.. haha.
There's a whole story behind that element that I hope to share in the future. ;)

Yeah, no motive is going to please everyone, and that’s fair. It is worth noting (and this wasn’t clear enough in game itself beyond a few lines) that her goal was to RESET the world, not end it. Wait it out in the mists so she could go back to killing herself over and over I suppose
I’m pretty proud of how Rama turned out, but I also have strong soft spots for Ivan, Joon, Navan, Ankka… okay I like all the characters we introduced don’t @ me.

It's wonderful to see how squad formation has become more accessible, and we're not done yet! Proliferating support roles- and boon availability- across more professions creates more flexible squad compositions, makes it easier to join a group and be able to contribute on the profession you prefer to play, and raises the floor by helping more groups get the essential power boost from boons with less complex organizational overhead.
Look forward to more incremental steps with every profession update! As I've previously mentioned in a blog on our website, Warrior Banners and Ranger Spirits will be overhauled this summer. That'll be in our professions update on June 28th!
Banners will allow Warriors to opt into a quickness support role, while Spirits will allow Rangers to opt into Alacrity coverage.
I've seen mentions in the comments here and elsewhere that it's become more important to watch ...
