Go with your gut.
We will for sure finish the main campaign chapters that we have planned. That won't be the end of the story content that comes to LE. We plan to continue to expand the story through constant updates. This doesn't mean more chapters.
Runemaster but each mastery has good non-minion builds, except maybe Necromancer.
Werebear.
You have a moderate amount of voice lines throughout the campaign and then various combat reaction lines. NPCs also frequently speak. It's not 100%. We add more every patch. Sentinel is probably the most cliche of the player classes. I like to think we've given each a personality though.
There are no tools quite on the scale of PoE tools. There are a few individual calculators and build planners. Most people will recommend playing vanilla at first though. You don't need to worry about bricking a character. Lastepochtools.com lastepoch.tunklab.com and maxroll...
Now I understand why I couldn't wrap my head around it , thanks for making it very clear and sorry that you have to repeat your answers so many times a day !
All good, just another source that people can stumble upon now.
The only thing I'm still not sure about after reading your replies countless time is this : we're assuming that each cycle will introduce a "cycle mechanic", just like any season in any aRPG. Said cycle mechanic will be exclusive to cycle characters and not legacy characters, right ?
At least for the first few cycles, no, that cycle mechanic will start out by being everywhere all at once. This is because the first few cycles are super important to the whole game.
As someone who played most arpgs since 99, i can already see all the symptoms of dupe exploit in this game. Unstable servers - check, ability to crash the game and your instance - check, game being developed by an indie studio with no prior experience- check. Only thing that's left is for us to understand the server character save procedure and check if there is a way to rollback your save with either instance / game crash or other methods abused in other games.
I just hope their team has experienced arpg players that played all sorts of arpgs (including private servers of arpgs) to know what kind of exploits to expect. And by experienced players i don't mean PoE because experience in PoE where there were no dupe exploits, won't help.
Dupe exploits are a serious concern and we have taken very special care to avoid them at every step. To date we have never received any item dupe reports that turned out to be real and we have never found or heard of someone finding any way to dupe an item.
This doesn't mean it's not possible but I, along with many other members of our team, played through several different eras of D2 duping and want to prevent it from being possible.
If you find any methods by which items can be duplicated, please contact us directly through our support site contact form.
Edit: this is all just for online, offline is hopefully obviously impossible to prevent duping.
There is no new information on the status of a potential console port. We still want to do it and I think it's looking good right now but we are just fully focused on 1.0
It's releasing on PS5 and Xbox same day as full launch, 21 Feb.
This is false. Not sure if intentional or not but please do not answer questions like this with such confidence unless you are certain. We haven't even decided which consoles we want to expand to yet.
The base drop rate is being reduced when item factions is added. To put the amount in perspective, once you are at about rank 3 in CoF, you'll have surpassed the current solo item acquisition rate.
Will each cycle have a different mechanism, like POE seasons has.
Yes, this one will add item factions.
Will armour scale better so sentinels can actually be tankier/as tanky as a dancing man in leather tights with glancing blows?
I'm sorry I can't share any details about what balance changes are coming in 1.0
Read moreI know it's just one voice in many but wanted to say that the POE structure of yearly support packs that are tiers is something I look forward to with enthusiasm because it gives me a way to slowly upgrade and work towards my target mtx over the course of a year. I typically buy 1-2 of the yearly support packs each league (if the league is good) and often i'll buy a league support pack as well. I don't think I've ever bought just the top tier pack straight away, but I have skipped ahead rather than buy them one at a time.
But, most importantly (and really the only thing i think is super important to me) is that if i buy points I always want those points to come with a pack that includes other MTX.
Once supporter packs exist the idea of buying just points, without attached MTX, feels really shit. If POE didn't have a large variety of supporter packs (4 over the year, and 6 each league) then I think I'd spend significantly less on their store.
Once I'm out of ...
Yea, our packs also come with cosmetics points too. It's hard to not just straight copy what PoE is doing because they are doing it so well.
Will the merchant guild be available on legacy characters or only cycle?
All aspects of the item factions system, including Merchant's Guild will be available to existing and new Legacy characters on Feb 21 when patch 1.0 drops.
Oh well it's the kind of dumb loyalty cards they try to pitch to you in grocery stores here in Germany. Like 99% of people don't care about it and don't have one, but they still have to ask you every single time, because their employer says so.
oh yea, I hate how often they change the cards. One grocery store here has had 4 different types of cards in the last 25 years. It's a long time but that's the sort of thing you would expect to stay consistent for way longer.
- Can't wait to play once 1.0 drops!
- Weird question. If cycles are seasons why not just call them seasons?
It's a very long story. The short version is that they aren't quite the same as seasons so we don't want people to long term expect the same experience. I use them in situations like this to help explain it faster.
We also feel that the name just fits better with the time travel theme of our game. Like it's restarting but with something just a little different because you went back in time. Instead of the seasons advancing and change occurring over time naturally.
Do you sometimes feel like a cashier who has to ask every single customer, if they have a payback card regarding how often you have to repeat yourself answering the same questions over and over and over? :D Still sane, exile?
No idea what a payback card is but sometimes yea. It's ok though, could be a lot worse.
Cool. Kind of weird to be able to power farm and then switch to trade, though. Almost sounds pointless to have 2 factions. But I'm sure the details in the Dev blog will make it make more sense. I'm excited
There is a very extensive post already on our forums that goes into detail as to why the plan you described will be worse than just picking either and sticking with it.
To be optional, you'll want to pick either trade or no trade. That's the end of the pro strat.
I can understand the frustration lol, either way thanks for the reply.
let's me keep working on my current online character
:)
:)
Do you choose the merchant guild or the rarity thing/faction during gameplay or upon creation? Can you change it at will? If it's at creation, what does a legacy character default to?
Gameplay. Yes you can change at will. Full details on item factions coming in a dev blog tomorrow.
Thank you.
If you google this question you'll find statements about online characters moving to offline as well as in the chat online. It seems like only a handful of people understand what's actually happening.
So frustrating. Oh well. As one of the people who worked on it. I'm extremely confident in my answer.
I have no idea how there are conflicting answers, I answer this every day. No matter, one more can't hurt. (Edit: just want to add that I'm not questioning that there are conflicting answers, just expressing my light frustration that they exist still is all)
Short version: you ever play PoE or a Diablo game? Same as that.
Longer version: currently available characters are legacy (standard) characters. On Feb 21, the official 1.0 launch happens. At that point you can create and play both cycle (season) or legacy (standard) characters. Cycle characters are all fresh and are the only characters that can compete on the ladder.
If you don't want to participate in the ladder, don't care about a fresh merchant's guild economy and would like to keep playing your old characters simply keep playing and creating legacy characters and it will be as though nothing has changed for you.
Characters never move between online and offline in either direction.
