Lots of misconceptions and misinformation surrounding this issue in general.

It’s nowhere near as bad as anyone thinks. The key piece of missing information is that it’s self reported. If we were to update to a version that required this (which we aren’t) then we would tell Unity how many new users we get each period and pay that much. There are also alternative payment options that you can do if you want. You can even report each category and Unity will just do the math and charge you the lowest version.

Was it scary and disappointing? Yes. Is it really that bad? No.

I’m going to close this thread here.

Sad face, but when it happens I'll be excited. I plan on playing on PC a bit until then though.

If you happen to already have the game and a steamdeck, many people have it working quite well already, we just don't test for it or support it as a platform yet.

In preparation for 1.0’s launch next week (so soon!), we are suspending Lurkit Application acceptance temporarily. The response has been overwhelming and we’re stoked to see so many of you want to participate.

This temporary closure is to ensure that we are able to effectively allocate resources to supporting creators and their communities during what we expect to be the busiest weekend of Last Epoch’s history.

We will open the program back up in March, once we are past the launch window.

Planning for 11am central! You can remember that as our typical launch times by our studio name, Eleventh Hour Games :)

We’ll definitely be revisiting older classes. Designing skills and passives is many of our personal favorite things to do and with the increasing tech we have at our disposal and talent we’ve brought into the team and grown over time there’s plenty we we’re excited to do.

Shamans getting a bit of love at release and I see u/ehg_trasochi (our principal designer) has replied to a comment below hinting at some sorc updates we in mind. Forge guard is high priority for some updates next.

Also, If you guys have cool ideas we’re always reading your comments and looking for awesome ideas from the community too! We like to keep some time flexible in our dev cycles to put in things like this that are not tent pole new features.

We have some specific ideas for updating Sorcerer that I'm really excited about.

  1. I’m assuming you’re referring to character inventory here - I’m not sure what you mean by “EQ”, other than Earthquake, but that doesn’t make sense =p I suppose this would be possible with enough demand, it’s not something we intentionally don’t support.
  2. Yes, this is intentional. You can be in a situation where your inventory is full, in which case if you were to close the forge, the item would have nowhere to go, and would drop to the ground, which if you don’t notice is far worse. So instead of having different scenarios of where the item can wind up based on if your inventory is full or not, we went with consistency: Your item is where you put it. We also looked into doing a “ghost” version of the item in the forge (not actually moving the item itself), however this caused other issues because of how crafting an item directly changes the item.

  1. One scenario in particular where I think this desire might arise, is where item labels and hovering them bringing up their card creates clutter while fighting, which is normally where the toggle item labels (default ctrl+z) hotkey comes in. I don’t see why this couldn’t be implemented if there’s enough demand. (This is the first time I’ve seen this request).

  2. I can see this, yup.

  3. There’s two parts here: Map Resets, and Zone Transition portals.
    a. - Map Resets: Because we don’t promote things like vendor runs (items intentionally sell to vendors for very little, so you only pick up things you might actually use), and all endgame activities fail if you leave them before completing them, leaving and returning to a map in the same play session is a rare occurrence during normal gameplay. So as well as being a technical limitation to improve performance, it’s also been lower priority to address; though ideally map permanence would be nic...

for #4, On the character selection screen, it should state the character name. Below that, it states the character level, followed by the character class (or mastery if achieved), followed by game mode (SC, HC, SSF, etc.). To the right of this information is the Class/Mastery Icon as well. Above the character list, you can filter by specific class, or game mode.

  1. Are you referring to a universal dodge button, or as LividLegends suggests, a way to skip parts of a map? We’ve discussed the former, but there’s nothing currently planned to be added. For the latter, our maps aren’t designed to have impassable sections be passable. Most traversal skills can cross small gaps, so long as doing so isn’t bypassing a certain amount of the map (going around isn’t a very long distance). Using traversal as a way to skip large parts of content/maps is not currently a planned feature.

  2. For melee attacks, there’s a setting in the menu for “move to melee attack enemies that are out of range” which you can enable/disable. For ranged attacks, this is the default behavior. Though if you use an ability on LMB, which is used for movement at its core, holding “Shift” then pressing LMB will force attack. If you are already holding LMB to move, pressing shift will not interrupt movement to attack, though if that’s the interaction you’re look...

Also if i'm not wrong LE doesn't have smart loot so dropping something interesting for another class can always be a reason to roll another character to try something different

if i'm not wrong LE doesn't have smart loot

It does have smart loot for some types of items, but it's definitely less exaggerated than it is in some other ARPGs. You'll still get lots of items that are good for other classes.

There is no smart loot at all for uniques or set items.

Not that im not going to play your game. I cant get enough of it :)

Anyway keep up the GREAT work.

Yea, it's on the radar, we have linux support and controller support. Both of which are getting improvements at 1.0. I expect that steamdeck will work actually well enough to be verified at 1.0 but we just don't have the bandwidth to check another platform for bugs at the moment so we can't put that seal of approval behind it yet.

It will not be steamdeck verified at 1.0
