This seems like a pretty large nerf to how weekly mission rewards are provided to us: https://i.imgur.com/EdLRQPr.png

Previously, you could buy the event pass in the final week and you'd still be able to do all 4 Weekly Wins missions in order from 1 to 4. Now it seems that if you buy the pass in week 4, you've permanently lost the 750 tokens from weeks 1-3.

Hey, that's not true. This is a mistake in the FAQ, apologies. The weekly missions unlock at a certain time and remain active until the final day deadline.

There's a lot of games on Twitch with lower viewership that are THRIVING in terms of player engagement.

Nice try Rito

You guys f-ed up and should at least try to fix your mistakes.

Besides, a "bad champion only good in low MMR", is miles better than "hey we made this champion really broken for a while because we wanted to fix him, you guys wouldnt mind losing your LP to him or having to permaban him would you?"

His numbers should clearly be tuned downward. I just feel like this balance state existing for 0.1% of League’s lifetime is just not that big of a deal.

Hey Everyone!I want to give some thoughts here.
- Generally it is easier to voice out negative sentiment online versus positive ones. I have so far heard Akali players both for and against the VO changes.
- Generally change takes time to get used to and it will take time for those who love the change to voice out their opinions. Its very common to reject change.
- Ashly is a great VA and have some really great work as Akali including her work as part of Tales of Runeterra video.

That being said,
- I very much understand that the Base VO and the multitude of small variations that makes Akali distinct in our minds (laugh etc), is very beloved and has its own apeal.
- We want Akali to stand in the middle of Zed and Shen as Chaotic Good. The new VO does make Akali more heroic, but potentially lost some of the chaotic/anti-hero elements.

As it stand, it would be hard to re-record lines (with these directions I think Ashly would nail!), but this i...

Fair enough! You'll still get all the rewards either way, so you do you.

We designed that feature for players like yourself! Still, give it a read if you want to later on in the event. It'll still be there and you won't have missed any progress :)

You have to grind for them. You have to play like 100+ games to unlock all the items over the course of an entire month.

Read the instructions next time instead of blindly buying something when you're utterly uninformed and didn't do your due diligence to inform yourself.

It's more like 58 games to get all of the content from the pass mission rewards.

Damn man, Vayne is a balance nightmare am I right? She even turns invisible!

Let me tell you guys a little secret.. “Balance teams” job is not to actually make every champ 50% w/r perfectly balanced..

It’s to shake up the meta. That is what “balance” actually is. They nerf and buff stuff even when they don’t need it. Just to shake up the meta.

This is also why we have huge updates.. like runes and item overhaul, dragon changes, why they let damage be so high for so long. The point is an ever changing game, with an ever changing meta. Not some “balanced” game where everything is in a balanced state and all champs are equally powerful.

I think there is a core component missing here. They also have the ability to affect overall game health in positive ways.

For example, how many people became AP Twitch mains once that build became viable? The balance wasn’t hit perfectly the first time, sure, but AP Twitch is practically a new champion and all it took was adding an AP ratio somewhere.

Master Yi has, for his entire lifetime, been a low-MMR stomper. So he has to be garbage for everyone above platinum and simultaneously too good for anyone below gold. So what do you do? Well, a really good option is to keep adding skill-expressive ways to fight other than “I hit R and right clicked you.” Were the numbers right the first time? Certainly not. But League has been out for almost thirteen years. Him being OP for a couple days is a reasonable price for attempting to fix MMR skew.

Well Reddit, it turns out Sivir changes were not actually a nerf despite the cuts in ratios and her short range was not gonna be an issue despite multiple people thinking Sivir can't even get an autoattack during fights because of her short range... which never made any sense since crit builds had comparable winrate and pickrate to lethality builds, AND Kraken was her best crit mythic, you know, the mythic literally based around autoing enemies. I guess it's not a surprise considering a lot of people here don't even play Sivir but will swear with all their might to know what she needs.

EDIT: also wtf she is at 53% winrate with 12% PR all ranks and it's still increasing, and 22% PR with 53%WR plat+ and also still increasing. She is broken af

To be fair to the community (those who hadn’t played it), the changes did read a little nerf-heavy considering how I had to hit base stats and cooldowns to make the changes happen. Sucks to overshoot but happy with the landing.

Partly yes. Obviously trying to tell same story across a bunch of games was hard and we missed a bit on consistency for SoL, but when we talked about it we also weren’t sure it was the best strategy even if we got the consistency right since you just get the same story in every game. For SG the goal was that any games or teams that wanted to participate in the moment would tell different stories but all in the SG universe which is also why different games have different champions. That way if you play multiple games you would actually get to see different stories in the SG universe rather then all the same

I was the creative lead for the event for the first like 6 months ish, and I was also lead for the entire program stretching across all the games that are participating. So I worked on a lot of the early creative stuff, and how the different games would plug into it. Not alone of course, but with a whole team of amazing creative rioters.

I was technically program lead throughout the whole thing, though once all the teams started running I wasn't really doing much but giving feedback on things here and their. I wasn't working on any of the day to day stuff like I was for Spirit Blossom and Sentinels, just the really high level stuff. As I started to ramp up more and more into the Gameplay lead position I started to work less and less on the SG event.

It's because she reflects back heals when people heal her, which count towards her total healing. So anytime someone heals themselves near Nilah or heals Nilah she heals either herself or a teammate

if only the ki cost for water whip was as low as Nilah's Q, I'd actually want to play a 4 elements monk.

I thankfully rewrote that line in time. The initial line was for a homebrew "water whip" spell, but my "Wait, I've played Monk before" detector went off and I found the damage in the PHB.

This isn't shade at the original writer, since this is her joke in the first place and she did a great job. I'm just proud I could nerd it out appropriately.
