I feel like this would be similar to the concept of Senna being able to attack turrets outside of the turret's attack range. Is it possible, yes. Is it likely to happen in a normal game with the amount of souls that are required for that? Probably not.

Thats a good comparison!

No this is almost certainly based on live data, over 48k swain games have already been played in ranked alone excluding the Chinese playerbase. Riot has more than enough data by now for each role and elo bracket to make this hotfix from live data. PBE data is not reliable enough to pre-emptively make meaningful balance changes and Riot wouldn't make a champion intentionally weak to hotfix later.

yep

Something like that

Honestly curious, I cannot imagine as Smite did that change that you guys at Riot didn't look at that possibility too.

We have not looked into it in the time that I have been here (roughly 2 years), though possibly before, though not to my knowledge.

Fully stacked Conqueror

Never getting hit by an enemy to turn off Warmogs

EDIT: AND 6 items with a fully stacked mejai's having replaced boots, meaning Swain isn't reaching anyone.

This is actually a pretty cool exercise in sort of triage both for design issues. First you would confirm that it actually can happen (video evidence is great for that) then you look at the severity and likely-hood of it happening to help determine the impact. The severity here could be arguably somewhat high because staying alive permanently in the enemies fountain is a generally game-breaking experience, but then listing out the conditions you mentioned means that, while the output may seem severe. the actual likelihood and impact this would have on the game is very, very minimal or rare, if at all. Doesn't dismiss it, but helps put it in perspective when you are juggling a lot of things!

Just to note here for this fun little hypothetical, champions can and would be changed. Look at the items update for example, we had to make large changes to champs like Ornn and Viktor because of how they currently interacted with the item system, but that didnt stop us from doing the changes!. But yeah, very fun thing to think about :D

Will 12.9 be out by MSI or will pro player in MSI be informed that they are not allowed to do this if game happens on 12.8?

12.8 is the MSI patch, these will be fixed for 12.9. We are currently deciding what to do about pro play.

Not an oversight, this was a conscious decision. That being said, we will be removing this in 12.9. We didn't have as much time to iron out the details of this change as we would have liked, so we made some calls what was immediately ok, and what we would reconsider for future patches.

How dumb is that Poppy W buff justification though ? "Players were being punished for misusing the ability so we made it that it didn't matter if the player played badly"

Rengar doesn't heal on his W any more. Rengar players should be punished for misplaying.

Also his damage has been cut in half. Bad Rengars should be punished for playing poorly.

You can make anything sound stupid by just claiming it's stupid.

Also you act like a 20 second cooldown in instant. It's still down for the entire gank if you misuse it in a gank.

A mistake by Phreak for the Swain R max HP:

For the swain passive to be even/higher during the R, just for the 125-275 bonus HP from the R, you need 18/29/40 souls. +7 more per soul than before (old 5, now 12).

But the old R also doubled the HP from the passive during the duration. So during the R you gained 10 HP per soul before and now you get 12. that means +2 only.

So the actual numbers for even/more max HP during the R is 63/100/138 souls. And I dont think anyone will normally have that many souls at lvl 6/11/16, especially because you cant get them from allied CCs anymore (less souls later on).

The P does give more total HP outside of the R. But it is also less than expected later on in the game as you do get less stacks.

Edit: Also another mistake: Double stopwatch is still possible, it just has 1 more restriction compared to before. You have to upgrade to GA/Zhonyas after buying the 2nd stopwatch and before using ...

Ah thanks, I didn't know they removed the double HP as well. Then yeah, it's going to be much harder to get more HP during ult. However, the increased healing likely makes up for it and we'll see what happens overall as a result.

You're welcome.

:) Thanks for the assist, hope to eventually tackle all of our champions that need bug bashing and QoL improvements (Sion included).
