Hey, just jumped in to let you guys know this was resolved by Mod Fowl this week. Going forward there will be a toggle to have bladed dive pick-up scenery or not so you can have it active as/when you need it. I'm not certain if it'll be in Monday's build, but I'll try to expedite it, as I know this issue is particularly annoying.

External link →I’m not hating on the Devs but Game Jam and the general update just gives me the impression it’s time spent fixing stuff they ballsed up before (the company, not blaming them in particular). I couldn’t imagine my boss letting me f**k off my entire primary role for a few weeks to fix something I f**ked up before. No hate, just saying - he’d expect me to do that in my own time.

It seems kind of odd that the same person can be nominated for both the regular category and the new x category. Also one of the artists in the best new artist category was also nominated last year, so how are they considered new?

So there was a bit of a debate the other day when we were going over the votes and deciding what to do about folks getting nominated in similar categories (Best New Artist/Artist ran into the same situation) and after thinking about it we decided it would be best to stand by the communities votes, if you got enough votes to be in the consideration for a spot you earn that spot and we didn't want to meddle too much deciding that X person shouldn't belong in Y category.
Now obviously this isn't an ideal situation but its the fairest to the intent of the nominations, We are looking into using a more modified system in the future to help mitigate situations like this but for this time around we wanted to stick to the votes as they came in.

Hey u/JagexAzanna By definition I don’t think I should be in the “Best Video Creator” category as I’m still new. I’m honored to have that extra nomination, but if it’s possible to opt me out of that 1 category and leave me in the other two: “best new streamer” and “best new video creator” categories that would best I feel. I don’t want to take up a space that someone else should have.

I think where the contention comes from, is that we’re told the staff are working on these passion projects, but then aren’t told what any of them are beyond a short byline of “yeah, we’ve all been working on some awesome ideas over the last week” with no indication of what these are or whether they’ll ever see the light of day.
Tl;dr the issue is a lack of transparency and clumsy communication, which has been a recurring problem for, well, a long time.
Yours and Hooli’s replies here are exactly the sort of updates on core topics the player base is looking for. Just a sentence as simple as confirming you’re looking into world crashes goes a long way to making players know that you’re actually looking into these problems/issues/questions.
Jagex could win itself some serious brownie point...

Thank you, this is the kind of communicating I wish we would have more often. I really appreciate it. I think if this is something that was added to the main post, a lot more people (including me) would have understood it better.
