Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user empire designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

A few possible problems here:

- you get Bluescreens, which are always Windows, driver or hardware faults. Next time you get one record the text on that screen for us. Do they relate to this game, or something else?

- all the errors in that log relate to the video system. Check for a newer driver for thet Intel Xe from HP support, failing that Intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

- you are VERY low on memory, and the Xe will take away some of it:

I think this is probably caused by something outside the game, from what you describe. But exactly what I do not know!

Try this Windows Repair tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

What if you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that - do you get the crash again or it is okay like that?

General logs are in your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder , there may be crash folders under your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folder too, depending.

This may need a Windows reinstall or reset to clean up. But first, try making a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that - do you get that same problem and error code there?

It's not impossible; when you reinstalled Windows did that include a disk wipe? Or is it the same disk volume as before?

When it crashes, can you run the game up again right then? Or you need to wait or reboot before you can do that?

And can you then load a save and get past the point it crashed before? Or it always crashes as the same point?

Actually, running our games' .exe files as Windows Admin usually causes problems, not fixes them!

I was able to run that save on my Mac perfectly fine. Do you have access to any other computer to test this on?

Did you do the SCANNOW process as well?

The Windows 80000003 we see against the launcher in that dxdiag means a Checkpoint Exception. But in what? If it were in the launcher itself you'd expect everyone to see this problem.

Anyway given the mention of the GPU let's do a clean upgrade of the nVidia driver to the new one released a few days ago.

Uninstall it with this

I think that is likely coincidence.

When you say you tested without mods, this was in a new galaxy? Not loading one from before that had had mods used in it?

Looking again at that dxdiag, we see both hangs and crashes in stellaris.exe - not a good sign!

A new error in there I have not seen before
00007FF7E6E98D91 (stellaris): (filename not available): PHYSFS_swapSLE64
which looks like a Windows disk or file system problem!

If there are no mods involved, and the crash is reproducible from a given save file, Please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach that save there.

If there are mods involved please contact those mod authors, and/or post in the User Mods forum here.

Sorry for that problem!

Has this game ever worked on this machine?

What happens if you run stellaris.exe directly from file explorer?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

We see mod and localisation errors in that log. Is this happening in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?

Still lots of errors in those logs. Again: is this in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?

And I see many of those errors are due to the localisation. If you switch the game to English and start a new unmodded galaxy, do you get the same problems still?

Disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on the save game file. Do you also get this in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?
