Great information, sir!

When you go in game, you can "Preview Ship" in the tech tree to see something. Then go to "Armor Layout". Hide everything except the Citadel, and then you'll see where the sweet spot is on each ship.
Every ship is a little different, so it can be tough remembering it all. Some tips above like aiming at the waterline underneath the smoke-stacks are fairly reliable though.
Here's the "Citadel" of the Cleveland shown with the Armor Layout feature in game. Play around with it and feel out each ship you like to play.
Submarines are still in Testing, and Homing has being adjusted over the past several patches. Please expect changes and iterations as testing continues.
If you are having trouble with being too close to use Homing, perhaps switch to the Dumbfire option and lead normally?
These are all things employed in the process of Balancing.
Battery Depletion has no realistic tie to being Detected, but it allows for Detection to be a slow, constant problem for a Submarine. Due to the capabilities a Submarine has in regards to staying undetected, Surface Ships having additional interaction capability is part of the back-and-forth of gameplay.
You have expressed your dislike about Operational Depth not having self-spotting. However, encouraging a solo Submarine to Periscope or Surface Depth makes them more able to be interacted with when detected from sight, hydro, or radar. Depth Charges impact Submarine...
Bearn skip bombers are hyper-accurate. Other skip bombs are not.
This is a specific perk to the Bearn as she's not an offensive powerhouse.
I have relayed that I haven't heard anyone being sad about Invulnerable AA Mounts <3
and Secondaries too, I guess~
We know about this one! Current priority is on the Survivability Expert & Secondaries/AA Mounts issue.
Thanks for letting us know <3
Fixing the issue would be better than band-aiding it. We're working on getting it fixed if possible.
See https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/248703-quick-update-on-recent-bugs/ as a post I'll be updating/working with.
Very cool! <3
Added the recently reported issues as a line item, but I don't have status updates in specific to X or Y issue. The SE one is more game impacting then the Secondaries/AA Mounts not breaking.
Quick update in the recent bugs arriving with Patch 0.10.11
Recent Bugs: "Survivability Expert impacting Saturation" and "Invulnerable AA/Secondaries"
"We’re working on a fix and we’re going to test it soon. Based on results of the test we will decide the next steps and inform you about it”
This message is short and sweet, but the folks upstairs are hard at work right now~
Will keep you informed as more comes out!
I've already passed up the recommendation. YouSatinGum requested that yesterday.
However, right now it's about finding the bug and figuring the out how the fix gets implemented. That's still in process and it's high priority.
Electric Light Orchestra - Can't Get It Out of my Head
So, there's an "Operations" channel you can join in game. You'll often find groups running Narai in there, though groups sometimes change to other Ops to mix things up.
Go to the "Channels" tab in your Contact list, then open up the Operations channel. You can see folks asking about Narai groups when I took this screenshot a minute ago.
Information on this came in this morning.

"Mercy Rule" information is retained on the account without a set expiration date. Theoretically you could open 14 Mega Containers with no Ship and buy a 15th Mega Container... and then open it 6 months from now. It should result in a Ship Group Drop as the information is simply held with no expiration date in the system.
That being said, each "Container Type" has its own internal system identifier, so next year's Santa's Mega Container will most likely be a different Container with no back-referencing to the prior year's thing regardless of naming convention used. IE: Fresh start for each new Container type brought into the game, even if it has a similar naming convention to a previous Event's Container.
You're referring to automated drops? Sure, I mentioned that earlier in the thread.

The 13 hour Moderation-fest? Sure thing~
Just because topics are contentious doesn't mean people don't want to talk about them. The biggest hurdle is being able to provide a civil environment to have that conversation in.
He likes to argue in very precise, cold terms. It can come off as extremely sharp and is quite good at making people get passionately angry.
He toes the line while other people get angry and cross it. It's a form of fun for him.
Best advice, either stay frosty in the conversation or back away from the edge while you still have some sanity left.
A player can always do more with more.
A surface ship could have each turret be independantly aimed, for instance. Most folks wouldn't be able to break their mind up into three-or-four different firing solutions, but some "New Gen" high APM monster could. This game isn't about high-APM monsters, it's about decision-making and execution over time. This is why it has such a strong appeal across such a wide age range.
Other games aim for high-input skill checks as their base-level of gameplay. Our game does not.
To further reinforce this point, the entire question posed in this thread is "How can we bring Unicums down to a more normal level without making CVs extremely hard to play?"
There are people that have made that point, sure.
The Rework was done for a variety of reasons though, which included making the CV game feel more in-line with other ship experiences. Also, reducing the need for high APM/task juggling. The APM of an RTS system is a physical limiter/skill problem as some humans just don't do that stuff well.
It was about a great deal more than just damage application.
