I've written this before, but I am happy to write it again.
Femme people, folks with accents, folks who speak other languages, folks who do not want to speak, and some other cases I am not representing would be negatively impacted by any form of opt-out voice chat. It would also set expectations in a way that would cause issues for folks who chose not to engage.
When people are harassed on the basis of their identity, and voice is certainly a factor of identity as well as a lens into the rest of it, it can be especially hurtful. We are not willing to trade the tactical edge it gives players for that, full stop. A thing I'd love for people to consider is that even if they are personally positively impacted by a feature like this other players may be paying a very steep cost indeed for their good time.

Read moreHowdy friends, we're investigating reports that players are getting "stuck" in all chat after trying to send a single message with shift + enter. The intent is that everything pretty much works as it did before, with shift being a one-time modifier for your message.
If anyone has clear reproduction steps would be grateful as we try to track down what's happening.
The LP change is my favorite part of the patch notes. It just takes forever to rank up right now on the current system. Not to mention every season you drop an entire elo from gold to silver or whatever so you have to grind back up. And since they have mid season ranked resets now I think they are changing LP to get ahead of the problem

The way I interpreted it, right or wrong, was that all champs would flow automatically eventually to the 4800 and settle. To go into other tiers would be an explicit decision based on the champ and qualitative measurements to improve general player retention.
