Yes, this is something we certainly need to adjust, and before we can do things like localization. Typically we do try to keep things to American English, though being human I do slip up once in a while and use everywhere else in the world English instead.

As Vapourfire mentioned, we do have a tooltip hunt channel on the forum, where you can post references to any incorrectly spelled, worded, or just ‘wrong’ tooltips, or you can use the bug report forum as well - though I think we are aware of most instances of this, we just need to commit to the hunt to chase them down and fix them all, which would likely happen before we start localization efforts.

Edit: sorry, I left out part of the response I meant to include. For more reference regarding these changes - In Last Epoch some tags are written manually by hand, while others are generated automatically by the system based on attached tags. This is one of the challenges we have regarding localization, and mention in the ...

Hello Nuclearism!

I'm sorry to hear you've had an unpleasant experience! We most certainly do try our best to be transparent to the greatest extent we can on what we're working on, and what our goals are. I think your post has some fairly common feedback in it, which we do of course pay close attention to, and I think you might be happy to hear we are already well underway to address!

I'll go over a few things in my response here, however I'll also link you to our latest public development update which goes over a lot of this stuff in more detail, and gives some nice juicy visuals as well: ...

Hey Travelers!

Today we are sharing some design thoughts surrounding the creation of our new track in “The End of Time” in Last Epoch. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s beautiful - have a listen!

Singing wordless vocals throughout help create the mysterious feeling for the End of Time soundtrack. The track also contains a lot of ethereal synths and mandolins that are drenched in echo effects to help create the feeling that you are in a mysterious, faraway place that also has a feeling of hope.

Halfway through the track, a version of the LE theme comes in that ...

Almost there! Currently items with + to skill level ranges can roll with a … lets say decimal value. From a single source, it will round up, however as the stats are additive with each other both combined will only round once. Eg, one rolls 1.2, the other 1.1, individually they’ll round up to +2 to smite, however additively you have +2.3 to smite which rounds up to +3 to smite.

This is a more complex issue than it may appear due to how the affix system works with rolls, but we are still tracking this and looking for the best solution without impacting other item affix systems.

Please remember to keep conversations civil. I understand this is certainly a highly controversial topic and it’s easy to get heated, but please try to debate points or opinions raised rather than attacking the posters.

Hello Zaodon,

While ‘technically’ possible to not get any keys in 1,000 monos, it should not realistically be possible. I believe there is three possibilities here:
1.) Perception bias: the 1,000 mono count may be including monoliths ran before keys became available, and due to poor luck within a smaller window during available timeframe, it’s creating a much more negative view of the RNG than exists causing an inflation of the interpretation of negative RNG

2.) Something in your game files is not correct. I would recommend verifying your game files through steam, and ensure your character files as well have not been corrupted or tampered with by your system.

3.) You’ve basically won the lottery 10 times in a row, in a bad way. I don’t know the exact odds off the top of my head - but as mentioned, not one key in 1,000 monos should not realistically be possible. If you’re able to provide any sort of evidence of this kind of RNG, we would certainly be interes...

Hello Travelers, and once more: Welcome to the final post of the Community Designed Unique Event!

Over the course of 6 weeks, we held a total of seven polls to result in a new Unique item to be immortalized within Last Epoch. This event has been a very special one. The entire unique from start to finish has been designed by the community.

Throughout this event, there have been many amazing ideas brought forward by the community, and some very close races in the polls. Some of these ideas may not have won the polls, but our hearts instead, and may well live to see implementation in some other form (Long unlive zom-bees!). However the community has spoken, and the Community Designed Unique has been created!

While our production team has been hard at work on multiplayer, Performance, and other top-secret changes for the next major update, our art team has been hard at work over the last couple of weeks to bring this Community Designed Unique to life for us to show ...

I’m fairly sure Llama is correct here, and that is intentional for the mentioned reasons. However I’m double checking with the team as an angle of feedback to see if maybe it should still scale with attributes.

Currently, Toxic Coating Grants:
Chance to Poison, Melee Attack speed, and Less Damage Taken. Exact values are still being balanced with QA testing.

Hello Travelers!

Today is an oddly special day for Last Epoch: World Bee Day.

On the 20th of December, 2017, the UN General Assembly officially declared May 20th “World Bee Day” in observation of the role bees play within our world’s ecosystem as a pollinator. This day of recognition aims to increase awareness of the critical part they play in everything from food production to medicine production, and to provide information to help protect these critical creatures from the decline they have been facing.

While this is an important topic in general, you may feel it’s odd for a game company such as ourselves to be talking about and promoting it. However, those who have been with us for a while may have recognized that bees have found a special place within our hearts, game, and community. As such, today is a day of celebration.

I just wanted to quickly note: We changed the default keybindings binding for this from “Z” to “Alt+Z” in 0.8.5 to further prevent players from accidentally disabling tooltips. If a player has an old account they had played, and still had local saves from that playtime, their default keybinding will not have updated as we didn’t want to reset all players keybindings. As it requires “alt+Z” for new players, it should be fairly difficult to disable tooltips by accident unless you change the keybinding to something easier to intentionally use.

For existing players that have encountered this issue, I may recommend either updating the keybinding manually if you want to avoid accidentally using it, hitting the “reset to defaults” on the keybindings settings page to restore to this and all other bindings to default, or unbinding if you don’t at all want to use it.

Hello Travelers, and welcome to the sixth Community Designed Unique event poll!

To quickly recap last week’s poll, we decided on what the art would be for the Unique item. While we had three great options representing The Lost Refuge, and its cultural combination due to humanity from across Eterra taking refuge together - there was a very strong community preference.

This spear has strong influences from Lagon, Rahyeh, and Heorot’s people, with the makeshift nature of combining powerful relics from their homelands into a necessary weapon to try to hold at bay the ceaseless void.

Now, we must finally decide what the name and flavour text will be for the item. The name...

Statements like this one seem difficult to assess, and if I'm entirely honest, my intuition always pushes me to instinctively dislike them, because they sound like "We want you to do manual labor just because." and that seems pretty bad. I have to keep consciously reminding myself that nothing in a video game provides any real life benefit at all and they are made up entirely of unnecessary work and effort. For example, nothing stops game devs from giving the player all items and the best loot ever right from the get go, but that wouldn't be very fun. If I'm understanding correctly what video games are about, the point is to create work that feels particularly rewarding/successful.

But even with that conscious reminder it feels difficult to judge those statements. Because there's always the instinctive fear that the task at hand (the manual evaluation of idols in the ex...

It's certainly a complicated topic, and one that's really based on "feel" and feedback. We listen very closely to feedback, and make changes based on the feedback we get. I don't mean to say we won't make any changes to idols, roll ranges, roll combinations, routes of acquisition, things of that nature. Just that we don't want the loot filter to remove the aspect of actually looking at gear and making decisions. If your filter was to only ever show you items that are a guaranteed upgrade or use item, what excitement could be had from finding a better item? It becomes guaranteed, expected, there's no longer a loot hunt, but a simple loot wait until it shows up on your filter. This can create a lot of frustration since it can be long periods between "perfect" items, and also disincentivizes crafting to alter less than perfect items.

When viewing this kind of feedback, we need to assess "why" people want the filter to be able to be more strict. Perhaps idols are currently too ...
