I do understand the confusion here.
Here is what actually happened, here are actual facts.
Check the EU Tab of this event page - Battle for New World | New World
See her name on that list?
That’s because she was participating in the Battle For New World event as a paid promotion.
The moment captured on screen is when our Dev team activated her account backend to be able to skip queues to hop in an play moving forward without waiting. It flagged a ban message on screen but she wasn’t actually banned and continued playing right after.
Now I k...
Read moreI appreciate the feedback on our ban appeal process, I am providing this feedback to the heads of the support and moderation teams, but we cannot do anything on the forums to help investigate or solve moderation issues unfortunately.
Please continue to use the appeal process and I’ll keep providing the feedback that folks want to see improvements.
Hey folks, unfortunately the forums is not a place where detailed account violation information can be posted. If you were creating 10+ accounts, in a short period of time, skipping the tutorial, and showing behavior a lot like how gold spammers operate you were likely tagged by that software. My intention isn’t to shame anyone but to explain that you likely met the same behavioral criteria as many gold spammers. You will need to work with support to show that you are a legit player.
Unfortunately, that can’t be solved on the forums. I will again send the details from this thread to the Moderation team to investigate.
No, this would be a dedicated User Research Team, that targets, generates, samples, and interprets data. I think the UX team is more focused on product design changes that improve user experience.
Be sure to check our communications to see updates on exploits, botting, cheats, and the steps we are taking to address them.
Read moreIt is likely you either haven’t been selected or missed one. We continually run and analyze surveys as a usual way to determine feedback, in addition to the In-Game feedback tool, forums, social, content, etc.
I don’t think polls would help address the cheating problem you are calling out.
The team is tracking all the various exploits, bots, cheats, etc. and are working to address and resolve them.
We are doing through patches that close the gaps, detection, and moderation. We won’t be able to vanquish all forms us cheating at once and this will likely be an ongoing process for some time. But we are committed to addressing it.
Our research team does a lot of this kind of polling through surveys, if you receive a survey in game or when you log out please complete it.
Appreciate this organized list, will make sure the team is tracking the issues you have called out. Thank you!
The forums are not a place to appeal game bans for yourself or others. You need to contact support who have the tools and ability to investigate and review.
We have a Code of Conduct, our expectation is all players follow it. If they didn’t violate that Code of Conduct they should appeal.
If there are no Code of Conduct violations then it shouldn’t matter how many reports they received. A human moderator reviews the reports and makes the decisions on how to suspend or ban based on the behavior. There certainly are cases of human error, and you should appeal those.
Typically what happens is two rival groups bait each other into violations then report each other, the volume of votes means it moves up the queue for review, but does not impact the moderation decision.
Another point of confusion is that the notice of ban is too vague, so you might not realize it was for something you did hours earlier or something that in the heat of the moment you forgot you said/did.
Regarding PvP in New World, we’ll continue to invest in War and Outpost Rush and work on changes to Open World PvP. We won’t be exhuming conversations about early testing versions of the game.
There is no outcome where this thread doesn’t turn into a flame war. Not sure what the constructive intention is here. From a neutral place I see conflict between two groups who both want different areas of focus in gameplay and often insult and diminish the importance and influence of the other group.
Thanks for the report, will share with the appropriate team.
I will escalate this to the team.
You will have to contact Support if you lost an item as a result of an outage or server issue.
The world is being restarted and should be back up in 10 minutes.
