Honestly, it sounds almost like a hardware issue - before I upgraded, my GTx970 would display similar images before crashing my entire PC if I was playing something a little more demanding. Have you been able to monitor the temperature of the GPU while playing the game?

I mean, the guy's clearly one of the new Krypton faction, you have to talk to Lex in the Capitol Building to get the kryptonite needed to kill them.
