Pretty much... we'd likely not see this otherwise.
Naw, this is incorrect. The performance team predates the switch team and will continue on after switch is part of the normal release cycle.
Since a dev saw this, I'm kinda curious: why is leaking even possible? How can you get unreleased game material from screwing around with the live client, and can't you just keep everything you don't want leaked out of reach from the players?
Without getting too technical, It's really hard to keep stuff in testing & development, while not putting the game at risk. From there, because we use Unreal decompiling the assets isn't that difficult. We also believe in trusting our community with this capability. We also believe that rather than spending precious resources on encrypting assets, you'd rather us spend that time on fixing bugs and making new stuff.
As for why it hurts, announcing stuff is a great way to get folks to come back to the game, and we use those announcements in contractual partnership with the big guys like Microsoft. So when they're no longer an announcement we can (and have) lost those deals. These things take months of development from dozens of folks, so it's not like we have some other stuff to just toss in to the deals. Losing those deals means fewer people hear about Dauntless... So on and so forth, from there everyone is sad.
Leaking stuff is super lame my dude. Hurts small teams like us a lot. Be a pal don't hurt the people who make the things you love.
All right if you say so
Yup we sure do.
do we really need another slow progression system that requires more time waiting than playing?
that's what worries me.
We like time not waiting, too.
Wait, first guy asked about server side hit reg, but that's what we have now isn't it? Are you guys actually talking about client side hit reg? Cuz that would be awesome.
Oh good call. Yes I'm talking about client side. Sorry 1 am reddit replies are a bad idea.
Oh, that's nice. Can you point me to the source?
Confirmed, it's almost 1 am so I can't ask when it's getting released, I know it's in testing as I did a play test last week to test it.
When will cats?
Shave your beard and I'll put it on the backlog
Thanks for the genuine answer.
Yesterday I caught up about 10 seasonal lvls due to the accumulated tokens from previous days, so it was possible to cycle through them in order to find mostly silver and golden ones.
Overall I find the bounty system much better than weekly challenges plus RNG drops, so good job guys :) At the same time I agree that there is a need for some balancing indeed, if 'finishing 5 neutral patrols' grant the same amount of exp as "breaking 5 parts on enraged behemoth" ;)
The awesome ForgedPixels just started rebalancing the drop rates to fix those sorts of issues, yesterday!
It's high on our to do list!
Does it mean that it could be easier to get to 50th at the end of season? I'm on 25th as a casual player with many obligations and I'm afraid I won't get even to 40 by the end of the season regardless of my effort. But if there is some catch-up system, I'll be more encouraged to do my best :)
Not so much that it's easier at the end, but that the way Bounty Tokens are granted allows for folks who start late to catch up.
We're attempting to find the right middle ground between folks feeling like they can't finish and folks who play a bit more feeling like the Hunt Pass requires enough play. Lots of room for improvement here. Ultimately we want to create something folks will love, and are trying different systems to improve it. IMHO, Easily one of the hardest balancing acts in games these days.
Bounties also have some catch up systems there to help folks
Oh sh*t! So good.
Doge Behemoth soon?

That's fair, no hate there. Was just kinda irritating in a way, sorry if I came off as a complete dick (mostly :P)
Could be that they have a friend or coworker and went over to their house, perhaps a new relationship was made and they live together now.
Wouldn't that still be against ToS as they're using another persons account? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding that, which is possible, but the tos states:
- Log into or otherwise using another person’s account;
As one of the things you don't do, so in your above scenarios wouldn't it be mostly irrelevant, given the name change to "Lady Dauntles" on this account with those cosmetics, you can draw reasona...
Ok. I'll look into what's up next week when I'm back from vacation.
Oh man I just watched that video with my youngest the other day! So good.
No gymnastics, it's possible you weren't aware that the user in this video is playing on a bought account! No issue there, assuming thats what it was.
If you look here you'll see the user in this video, 25 days ago, desperately wanted the Season 2 cosmetics.
Now this user is posting content and playing with these cosmetics. Now you can easily see how the connection can be drawn that this user purchased an account, unless you're saying she was given these cosmetics by PhxL.Perhaps worth looking into, especially given a lot of players are starting to notice, and with a name like Lady Dauntless, it would be pretty bad optics if you guys were seen to not take action against someone when there's reasonable evidence she has breached ToS. Wouldn't want people to breach that now would we? :)

That said, more generally, I can think of a number of reasons that are far less nefarious than selling of accounts why they might have access to that content. Could be that they have a friend or coworker and went over to their house, perhaps a new relationship was made and they live together now. Perhaps they found their old account. Perhaps they didn't know they bought it earlier due to some form of long term memory related disability. Communities like ours bring folks of all types together.
I tend to default to trust and belief in the general goodness of people here in our community and do my best to find that goodness instead of looking for malfeasance. We're lucky that is the case in the vast majority of cases.
At the end of th...
