Yea. This one is certainly going to hurt us long term if we can’t turn it around. We’re very much hoping that as we improve online service stability at mass scale and people are playing that they see we care deeply about the game and the community and change their minds.

We care about the health of in game chat. I can point to the fact that we’re using an auto-moderation system that we’ve been tuning for a year that is quite costly compared to other options as proof (it’s far more than just a blocked list of words). If we’re seeing chat have off-topic dialogue that is extreme like this I’ll make sure we invest the resources into creating more moderation tools though like right click to report and keep team members active in muting, banning, warning, etc.

Also, re: gold sellers. This is one of the major things I was considering when thinking about the monetization model. Admittedly I think if we were free to play with some pay for convenience we’d be generating slightly more revenue for the studio. However, for gold sellers we can ban their accounts and they’re forced to make a choice - stop or pay for the game again and make a new account. I suspect after enough remaking accounts and having to pay this game cost again this won’t be lucrati...

What were you smoking when you made that decision??

I hate that damn bird always screeching. It is annoying as hell. I can't believe you wanted to hear it more often.
Unfortunately it is linked to the battle sounds slider which no arpg player wants to be quiet.
If you can't give us an option to decrease the amount of times it screams (or get rid of it completely) maybe attach it to the ambient sound slider, or just have a screech only when attacking.

As it is now I don't want to play a Falconer simply because it is that distracting and annoying to be constantly subjected to.

Haha that bad huh? Well since we’ve got the server fires mostly calmed down I’ll have a chance to take a look at it with our sound designer and see if we can make it more reasonable as this has been brought up a number of times

Haha it’s fine. Typically people think that if they bring up a problem like this it’s not going to get noticed by a dev team and it’s just shouting into the void - and that’s frustrating. I used to do it too.

We’ll fix it :)

Glad you’re enjoying the game :)

Completely understand why this would be desired right now with the server issues we’ve experienced during launch. Offline character data is stored locally on the players PC, meaning it has potential to be manipulated, so while we could make it so online character progress could go to offline with some effort we wouldn’t allow offline progress to go to the online servers because it would prevent us from doing leaderboards, trade, and in the future other competitive things like races, server firsts, etc. I very much suspect people wouldn’t like to make progress offline temporarily but have it locked to offline - splitting their characters state.

We’ll be making improvements to online stability at mass scale. We have enough real world data now to see where bottlenecks are and how things break in a real world scenario that our scale testing wasn’t showing us before launch.

We want to update the minimap/overlay map outline design to address this and just look a bit better in general. We even have some mockups of how we’d like to tackle it. When we have a little more bandwidth we’ll be on it

Love threads like this. Just got back from watching our composer conduct Last Epoch music with the UCLA Orchestra which was an incredible experience - but as soon as I wake up I’m going to start taking notes from what I see in this thread.

Thank you all for taking the time to give feedback. I appreciate it

Yes, this wasn’t a great response and Steve apologized afterwards. I also apologize. We have team members trying to endure a lot of really awful comments to them when the servers are facing instability due to load. Im pulling our team members besides our actual CM and myself out of Discord while there are issues as I need to shield them from the negativity.

Again, apologies for that comment.

But Items can drop with affixes that are level 6 or 7. These are called "exalted" and depicted in purple. Usually you get one exalted affix, maybe 2 if you're lucky. The Item in the picture has a level 7 and two level 6 affixes.

Thanks for the thorough and helpful response to a new community member u/TheoriginalTonio

I know I have a ton to learn as far as things like crafting systems and whatnot but I also know the game has enough information provided that I'll definitely learn as I go. It feels super approachable but really, really deep at the same time. I can't say enough about it. I've been online off and on the last few days and despite a handful of server issues, it's been an absolute blast and I can't wait to jump back in.

Kudos to you and the team. Incredible job.

Cheers and thanks for the kind words

If you guys do implement this please give us an option to disable auto-use potions. My forge guard has to be fairly picky with potions and I don't want to waste a potion that's sitting on the ground because I'm at 99% health but might need it later in a boss fight.

That’s a good suggestion

I agree and disagree about this change. Sure the range could be better, but often i don't want to pickup potions immediately, because i have life leech or health regen. Having a small pickup-radius makes it possible for you to save potions for later.

I.e. for bosses i leave potions on the ground for later in the fight, when i need them, and rely on life leech/regen for as long as possible. Having a bigger pickup-radius could ruin this strategy.

Yes, there’s certainly a tactical element to the lower radius that we’d want to keep in tact. I’ll be advocating to change it from whatever it is right now where you have to stand nearly on top of it (let’s say 4 units for reference - it’s not) to something like 7-9.

I literally built this studio and game so I could come do this, haha! I spent like > 3000 hours on D3 forums before it released and just wanted the devs to talk to us.

Actually yes. I can provide more info about the issue on hand.

Void Knight Warpath Standard spin to win build.

I get the fps dip even without enemies on the screen. The moment I start spinning I will get a dip and stutter (2-3fps) every 15-20s.

Happens on every mono I am in and also in between (zone b4 mono, the one with merchant and chest).

Don't think it's performance as I have tried a game on super low res and minimum details and it still does the same. Runs smooth 60, dips to 57, stutter and goes back to 60. Same thing with capped 30fps.

I'll take a look in the evening is this happening only with warpath or with just running as well.

Will test other skills too. Perhaps you are right that this may be connected to the skill itself.

I only have one character so again will check it e...

Appreciate the kind words and glad you’re enjoying it! I’d be interested to see your skill tree on warpath as there may be an augment that’s not optimized for performance
