We’ll be explaining the legendary item system after 0.8.3 drops. We’re pretty excited about it and it will add good chase to all classes and all item slots.

Right now finding items with multiple good T6/T7 mods and certain uniques are very rare

The cosmetic/MTX system will come before release. We have wireframes created, backend 80% complete, next is UI implementation and hooking up the API, UX testing, then the paintovers. I believe (currently, subject to change) that this may be implemented in just a couple patch cycles from now.

We have. We don’t want people to be re-rolling spawns of locations, vendors or enemies over and over. We know players would do it if it were the most efficient way to upgrade which means it’s on us to make sure that is not the case.

So that you guys don’t go mad searching, we have not yet released information about how the Legendary system will work. It will definitely provide good chase and you won’t feel like you’ll just never ever get one. Till then, reading the speculation is pretty fun from our end. Maybe you guys will come up with something awesome that we take into account

We have a lot of good stuff in the pipe for you then, sir! The new forms are looking really awesome. I’ve never personally been excited about Spriggan and I am after the internal updates… and the bear form update and the unreleased form are awesome. Looking like these will be released in 0.8.4 so we can have all the form updates including skill tree and passive changes released at the same time.

It definitely is a question we're asked a lot, but we understand because we're extremely excited about it too. We're working on some more formal information to put out to everyone but some quick info:

  • We're currently working on lots of optimizations. It's running pretty smoothly 90% of the time but then you'll run into a large dense pack of small mobs that need to send reliable RPCs on death and we'll get some lag for example. Fixable, just working through it.
  • We're working through server-side quest implementations. Some require a bit more work when they've got multiple branches of logic and conditions
  • We're working on ensuring that services that scale up aren't making too many calls to the database and other APIs and costing us absorbent amount of funds. Much better to do it at a smaller scale.

We playtest with the larger team every Wednesday and are still finding plenty of things to address but overall it's feeling good and playable ...

Plenty of optimization work is still to come! Our main engine dev that works on optimization was busy last patch on multiplayer server-side optimization efforts but is mostly back on the client side of things now.
