I’m impressed, great collection of info we’ve dripped!

We are diligently working on adding new visuals in terms of different armor sets, weapons, and uniques and we very much want to be able to transmog as well. The system will support it because of cosmetic MTX and we have had some discussions on what transmog for gear you pick up while playing will look like, but we haven’t 100% nailed down the specifics. I’m comfortable saying you can expect it in the future though. The cosmetics just haven’t been the primary focus as we’re still developing classes and progression systems.

You will however see a more permanent looking cosmetics panel in the late may patch (082)! So we’re making slow progress there and it will speed up as other things are fleshed out first

Appreciate the kind words

When I google the topic i always get „next big update“ from posts almost a year ago. I‘ve mostly heard late 2021 but would it be possible to PinPoint it to a Quarter?

Hey Joey, we’re excited to let you guys play together more than you can imagine. Multiplayer is one of those things that will be ready when it’s ready but I can assure you that we’re playtesting it internally, working through updates diligently, and when it’s in your hands it will be in a state we believe is solid. For more context, right now we’re addressing server side quest issues related to different party states (party leader and party members at different progressions).

You’re not the only one that experiencing some performance issues, especially in certain areas or around certain effects/events. Plenty of optimization efforts still in the works and rolling out each patch. What you’re describing seems more severe than most though so there may be some software/hardware incompatibility lurking on the machine you’re playing on. Hopefully the updates we have coming down the pipe resolve it for you though - keep a look out for patches!

No, it doesn't change your DPS at all. It just allows you to apply the DoT less frequently, or stack up more DoT effects at a time. It will keep doing the same amount of damage every time it ticks, but it will tick for a longer period of time.

As an example, let's say you have a DoT that does 100 DPS and lasts 5 seconds, for a total of 500 damage. If you give it +100% DoT duration, it does 100 DPS and lasts 10 seconds, dealing a total of 1000 damage. The stat is good for DoTs that can be applied multiple times, as increasing the duration of each DoT will allow more of them to be stacked at once.

Thanks for helping the community u/federalX, that is the right answer :)

The support we’ve gained as an indie team has been amazing. We’ve grown this team and game from an after hours project I started in the summer of 2017 to what it is via a modest Kickstarter and the backing of this player base through early access sales. We’re now at the point where funding is what we need to make the game we want to make with a team we’re very confident in. You’ll see a ton of updates to content that was made when we were a much smaller low-budget studio in upcoming patches.

And we’re always listening and asking for feedback! Join our discord and forums for more Epoch discussions with the community and our team https://dis...

It’s a good idea. If it’s not in our backlog of things to add in the future I’ll go ahead and add it. Thanks for the suggestion @quitesatisfied

Hey @Vatinas, very glad to hear you and your friends are enjoying the game! We believe that amassing a very high stack of common shards is not 100% ideal either and there are a number of ideas circulating internally on changes that may benefit the crafting system while addressing this. I don’t have anything to share yet because I’d hate to say “this is what we’re doing” and then change course, but just know that we are aware and agree with your sentiment.

Hey everyone, thanks for the continued great suggestions. One piece of functionality I’m very excited to share with you all in 0.8.2 is the ability to pick up items without moving the virtual cursor over them. This is being changed to smart area detection and you’ll be able to cycle through items on the ground by pressing up or down on the d-pad. We’ve put plenty of testing and love in to this functionality which helps moment to moment gameplay quite a bit. I’ll continue to poke around for feedback on this after it’s released in the late May (082) patch.

I can see how that can be confusing. What I can do is have the team add a better ALT (more info) description underneath it to clarify.

That's an interesting idea for sure. I'll bring this up with the dev team in our next meeting. Thanks for the suggestion

Hey all, yes sorry that this happens sometimes! It’s on our radar and while we don’t have a silver bullet for it yet this upcoming patch we are increasing the pickup range which should help in a lot of cases. @justoutoftime I’m sorry - this image literally pains my soul haha. We’ll fix it!

This is correct. Thank you, Muso!

Essentially the game is not server authoritative yet and someone has discovered that they can cheat/exploit this and are exposing it. We have a few social systems like the ladder that we have to monitor a bit more closely for this reason for the mean time. Multiplayer release will come with most logic existing on the server instead of the client and change the majority of what that post is referring to - and should alleviate their concerns. Sarno removed their post because it’s against our ToS to cheat and having more people obtain info on how to do this just causes more manual work for us before these systems are brought to server authority.

I can see how that person would be concerned if none of this was changing for multiplayer, but it is. The way we’ve developed it will allow us to support offline single player as well in the long run.

Hey Morbo, very happy to hear Last Epoch is making the genre more appealing to you!

We’re aware that the inability to do this is not ideal and it’s in our log of things to tackle. We have some good stuff coming for Druid in a couple patches and hopefully we can improve this functionality with that release.

That's a damn shame.

Kind of on the topic of social stuff though, do you guys have any concrete plans on guilds and guild functionality? I mean, just a guild chat would be amazing (and might alleviate the problems in global chats somewhat).

Concrete plans for them, not at the moment. If it’s a common request after multiplayer is launched or we come up with a cool guild system idea I wouldn’t rule it out though

Not bad, sir! Not bad at all :)
