This is Ask VALORANT. Send us your questions, we find some answers. This time we dive into performance history, breakdown your combat score, and a new way to buy weapon skin variants.

Q

I understand it means I’m doing something right, but what exactly does it mean when I have stars in my performance history?

A

If you’ve ever received a gold or silver sticker in your life for doing well, then this system likely speaks to you. In the performance tab, a star indicates if you’ve played better than we anticipated. That is, if you were regularly beating someone in combat and/or closely competing with someone of a higher rank than you, expect to have that acknowledged via a star.

A silver star means you exceeded expectations and a gold star means you’ve really punched above your weight. Pat on the back not included....

Nope, just an honest mistake. Additionally, Milkcow lowered the requirement of the specified mission.

Sorry for the impact!

Apologies for the delays, we'll be fixing it in the next patch for sure!

Thank you for the report. My team is looking into this issue right now and I apologize for the inconvenience.

!pin Yup... this is my mistake. We'll be moving the missing mission into the following week, reducing the requirements to 35 Ult usages and adding 2k XP to it as compensation.

The short version is, we’ve got some free in-game items for you on the way. Here’s the long version.

We’re teaming up with Prime Gaming to provide in-game items like Gun Buddies, Sprays, and more to players for free.

This loot will be available to anyone with an active Amazon Prime membership.

We’re kicking things off next week on September 18 with the Netter Treter Gun Buddy, straight from the collection of our resident sneakerhead, Killjoy.

How do I sign up?

You’ll need an Amazon Prime membership. If you don’t have a Prime membership, you can sign up for a free, 30-day trial of Prime.

Next, visit Prime Gaming’s VALORANT loot page to claim your loot and link your VALORANT and Amazon accounts to unlock exclusive Prime Ga...

I know, sorry. :( Still trying to debug how we integrate this fix; it's got some weird issue that the team has been looking at every day. Worst case it'll be fixed with the next patch.

How am I getting 135 fps? like Starts the round with 250 and while the round has not started I am with 250 moving around everything smooth and suddenly as soon as it starts 130 150 goes up to 200 then suddenly drops and my CPU is using 20% so don't say its CPU problem because it's not. It's very simple bad optimization of things how come I have the same fps with everything on high or low it does not matter what I choose, just from that alone you can see the bad optimization

The reason that you see low CPU utilization % is because we aren't doing a good job of using all of your cores. Right now, VAL heavily relies on one thread (the MAIN thread) to do the majority of the work. The render thread does quite a bit, and we recently added the RHI thread to ensure that the render thread doesn't get backed up. We have additional asynchronous loading and animation threads that we use, but they are a very small fraction of what we do, so a CPU as powerful as yours will not be taxed.

If you want to test this, you can open any program that allows you to see individual core utilization %s. You should see VAL using 90+% of ONE core while you're playing the game.

As far as I know, there is currently no option to turn this off.

Correct, but we can look at the option.

To OP: Do you want them off all the time, or would it be preferable for them to fade out as you get closer to looking directly at them?

Whether this gets implemented or not, the level of involvement shown by the devs in the community will never cease to amaze me. Kudos to you guys for this.

We maintain a reaaaalllllyyy looooooong list of quality-of-life, accessibility, and other small improvements. I'm talking to a few people this week about accelerating the pace at which we get them into the game. Every team member wants to do more of these, but the challenge is prioritizing them against all of the other new, big, complicated stuff.

Hoping to have an update for you all soon.

Hey RiotBrentmeister I have two questions, first is it normal that I feel csgo way more smooth? This in term of fps and mouse responsiveness. (I have a ryzen 3 3300x and a 1050) (also it seems that the game has issues detecting my monitor, it says 1920 x 1080 when it is 1680 x 1050 and I need to use a software and kind of cheat to stretch my screen, because it f**ks up the display. I don't want to explain how I do it, so if I comeback to the game (I came back to cs) I can still play in decent conditions. (yes 4:3 stretched player models is still possible)) . Secondly, my screen is 60hz and I have always felt that my shot should hit in case like this : https://youtu.be/muvToLXJSks , but while watching my own replay I couldn't say it was the game fault, as it wasn't including all the input lag I play with. What I want to ask is, do you plan on ever having a way to include some of the input latency in the hit registration? Sorry for bad engl...

I can't so for sure but a lot of the stretching software out there will add additionally input latency and potentially even worsen your framerate. I wouldn't recommend trying to use it. VALORANT will force a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio, we don't support 4:3 if that's what you're trying to get by stretching. 1680x1050 should work as a 16:10 aspect ratio though so I'm not sure why the game is having problems with your monitor. What does NVIDIA control panel say about your available resolutions?

Can you send me a traceroute to 192.207.0.1? Verizon NJ is pretty good overall looking at our stats.
