Just to confirm, when you mentioned you'd like to play with this option disabled, do you mean with the HUD element hidden (or disabled) all the time? Or did you mean you'd prefer it to be visible all the time, even when mounted, and it's the switching on and off that should be disabled?

In addition, would you be able to take a screenshot for me, showing the HUD element disabled, and then how it looks when it is re-enabled? ...
