Welcome back mayors, to the second Plazas and Promenades Dev Diary! Today we explore the details of how to manage pedestrian areas, what progression looks like for them, and what an area focus is. So get comfortable and let’s get started.

The key to a successful pedestrian area is managing the service points and keeping citizens happy and entertained. As mentioned in the previous Dev Diary, service points have a maximum capacity. This is the number of trucks that can visit them per week. It can be seen both on the tooltip of each building as well as when selecting it.

If a service point nears its capacity for either cargo or garbage, it will notify you of high traffic but will continue to function. If it reaches its capacity for one or both types of trucks, it will be unable to service all buildings. This will lead to garbage piling up or goods not being delivered. Make sure your pedestrian area has enough service points and that these are spread out to avoid traffic ... Read more

Greetings mayors, and welcome to another set of Dev Diaries! Are you excited about Cities: Skylines Plazas and Promenades? Over the course of the next two weeks, I will walk you through all the new content from pedestrian areas and streets to new specializations and service buildings - and plazas of course! And without further ado, let’s have a look at the announcement video:

At the center of Cities: Skylines Plazas and Promenades we have pedestrian areas and streets, which give you the tools to create neighborhoods focused on walkability. These will work to reduce traffic as well as noise pollution. To ensure you are able to create areas suited for your specific city, the pedestrian areas work with all existing zoned buildings!

Creating Pedestrian Areas Pedestrian areas take advantage of the Area Tool,... Read more

The built in "Unlimited Oil and Ore" mod stops oil and ore from being depleted (any oil and ore already used will not be replenished). If that mod isn't working for you, you almost certainly have a mod that's causing a conflict, stopping it from working.

I recommend checking your mods against this list of known broken and incompatible mods. Steam doesn't like the link, but it's just a spreadsheet. Just copy the link and paste it into a browser.

Sounds like the Paradox Launcher isn't appearing for you after the restart. Try a clean install of it following the steps in this post: https://steamcommunity.com/app/255710/discussions/0... Read more

Can players who bought their games though Steam and Epic stores play with each others made saved games, maps, scenarios? Is there some way to transfer these data between them?

The Epic version can still be modded, but everything needs to be installed manually in the correct folders, and there are very few assets and mods available outside the Steam Workshop for... Read more

Using the landscaping smooth tool try smoothing out the terrain under where you see all the spikes (can do this while paused), then use the water tool from Extra Landscaping Tools to reset the water level a few times while the simulation runs to avoid too much flooding.

Once the water is all settled down, save the game (I recommend saving as a new file), restart it and load the new save. Hopefully the terrain deformations causing the water spikes is gone now.

If you're using mods it's a feature of the mod called Toggleable Whiteness. With that mod you need to select the Info View on the left to get the overlay.

Did a clean install of the launcher following the steps linked to above help at all? Or does the launcher still not appear for you?

Yes, all the same DLCs are available with both Steam and Epic.

With Steam you get access to the Steam Workshop, where other players share custom buildings, intersections, maps and much more for you to use with your game. The workshop is really the only real difference, otherwise it's just a matter of which store you like the best.

That style is part of the game and shouldn't be removed. If the style is enabled the game will load both the European-style buildings and the vanilla-style buildings, regardless of what type of map you are playing on.

If the style is disabled, the game only loads one of those styles. For most maps, it loads the default/vanilla style, for European map types it will load the European style.

Those other replies mentioned something about a deal. I don't ask for that.
When you buy the base game on Steam, you must also buy any DLC on Steam. Otherwise you must buy them again, in that other store. Console and PC don't cross.

Can you tell me the differences and benefits between these stores? Just only PC, will be nice.

Most stores list what keys they sell, typically under details for the DLC or "Platform" - if it says ... Read more

If you edit Workshop buildings, you either need to unsubscribe the Workshop version or you need to select "New Asset" instead of "Load Asset" to create a duplicate. Otherwise the game can't tell them apart and only loads one, likely the unedited Workshop version.
