I'm afraid we'll need to see the output_log.txt (called player.log on Mac and Linux) to be able to help. As you can't attach it here and it is much too long to post here, I recommend you make a report on our support forum here:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

The log can be found here:

Windows
\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt
\CitiesSkylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt

Mac OS X
Users//Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/Colossal Order/Cities: Skylines/Player.log

You shouldn't need to do anything extra to get it to run on Win 10. Are you seeing the Paradox Launcher when pressing Play in Steam?

First thing to check is whether this also happens when you add the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods and test on a new city.

If that works just fine, then it's likely either a memory-related problem or it's a mod incompatibility. Let us know if it works fine with the launch options and we'll take it from there. :)

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply in the box (be sure to separate each code with a space). Should look like this:
    -noWorkshop -disableMods
  • Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

The error you're getting can mean a lot of different things. To be able to help we will need to see the output_log.txt as it shows more information and can help us determine what is causing the error for you.

As you can't attach files here and the log is much too long to be posted in a message, I recommend you post on our support forum here:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

You can attach the log file when making a post there, so we can have a look at what's causing problems for you. The output_log.txt is found in the Cities_Data where the game is installed, typically here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data

You can also find it by right-click on the game in your Library, select Manage and then Browse Local Files. Then ... Read more

Here's a link to the support article on how to verify game files:

If that doesn't help, please add the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods to test if any mods affect this.

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply in the box (be sure to separate each code with a space). Should look like this:

Sometimes logging out of Steam, shutting it completely down, then restarting Steam and logging back in does the trick.

Toggleable Whiteness is a mod that is supposed to stop the automatic switch of views, so if you have that subscribed it would explain the switch not happening. With that mod you toggle it automatically by selecting the InfoView on the var on the left.

Transport lines should still be visible though. This reminds me of an issue with Transport Line Render Fix, which has become obsolete and now causes invisible transport lines. But that's been obsolete since Sunset Harbor was released and shouldn't be used anymore.

An easy way to test if it's caused by mods is to add the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods to Steam, then test on a new save. If the issue is gone, it's likely caused by mods.

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply in the box (be sure to separate each code with a space). Should ...

Have you set the district specialization for the district? That would be required for those buildings to spawn.

Sales on Steam will show how long until they expire, and if you add the DLCs you want to your wishlist, it will notify you when there's a sale including them.

Paradox support are investigating this but as it's only happening to some users and doesn't have a clear cause, there is no news yet. I recommend keeping an eye on this thread:

Hmm that is strange. Best to contact Paradox Support then. Maybe there's a known fix for it, maybe it's related to the issues Steam is having at the moment.

How far do you get? Do you see the Paradox Launcher? Can you get to the main menu of the game? Is it a particular save that doesn't launch or can you not start a new game either?

We'll need logs to look into this. Please make a report on our support forum so we can have a proper look at what's going on.

You don't need to log into your Paradox account to play Cities: Skylines. You should still see the options to press Play and Resume in the launcher to start the game. Are those buttons missing?

Are you using any mods that affect traffic and public transport in any way? Or does this happen in a completely unmodded game?

We'll need to have a look at your log then, which unfortunately means I'll need you to make a post on our support forum as Steam doesn't let you attach files here. You can attach it directly when making a post on the support forum here:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

We need the output_log.txt which can be found in the Cities_Data folder where the game is installed, usually something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data

You can also find the folder by right-clicking on the game in your Library, select Manage and then Browse Local Files. Then just go into the Cities_Data folder and find the output_log.txt
